Radiant heaters
Sizing
Ensto’s Essi i radiant heaters act like the sun. By radiating heat, and the radiated heat warms the surfaces. The surface temperature of a radiant heater element is 380 ºC. The Essi i radiant heater is a quick way of providing heat, so it is suitable for rooms which are not used very often. Using an Essi i, the temperatures in a room can vary (e.g. between work areas). When ceiling heaters are used, the room temperature can be kept 1-3 degrees lower than normal without affecting comfort and cosiness. Night-time electricity can also be used to store heat.
The calculated output for stores and industrial halls with normal insulation in Southern Finland is 100 – 120 W/m2 and in Northern Finland 120 – 150 W/m2. If heat loss needs to be determined accurately, it must be calculated separately for each space. To ensure an even temperature, the distance between two heaters must be less than the height of the room.
Positioning The Essi i radiant heater should be installed onto a light fixture rail or the ceiling surface close to the outer walls (1-2 meters from the wall or a minimum of 0.15 m). The minimum installation height is 3.5 meters.
Installation The parts needed for suspending the heater are included in the package. The heater can be fixed onto the light fixture rail or the ceiling
or hung from the ceiling. Standard installation fixtures can be found in the connection box.
