PARTNERS IN THE GOSPEL
JESUS SAID, ‘THE HARVEST IS PLENTIFUL BUT THE WORKERS ARE FEW. ASK THE LORD OF THE HARVEST, THEREFORE, TO SEND OUT THE WORKERS INTO HIS HARVEST FIELD.’ IT’S A CALL TO PRAYER THAT’S AS NECESSARY TODAY AS IN THE FIRST CENTURY.
Thirty years on, the Jewish scholar Saul – converted and commissioned for his pioneering evangelistic work – wrote as the Apostle Paul, ‘to all the saints in Christ Jesus at Philippi, together with the overseers and deacons’ telling them, ‘I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel...’ (Philippians 1:1-5). Paul regarded his brothers and sisters in the church at Philippi not merely as interested onlookers to his missionary endeavours, but as fellow-workers in the great enterprise of proclaiming the gospel of ‘Christ and him crucified’ to all mankind. Continuing this pattern, the Crosslinks Stakeholder Scheme is designed to help today’s churches with their ‘partnership in the gospel’ in world mission. It offers support, encouragement and resources to churches to help them play their part in fulfilling the command of Jesus to take God’s word beyond the parish boundary to God’s world.

I ALWAYS PRAY WITH JOY BECAUSE OF YOUR PARTNERSHIP IN THE GOSPEL PHILIPPIANS 1:4-5
CROSSLINKS STAKEHOLDER SCHEME The Stakeholder Scheme can be a tremendous help to churches as it enables them to acquire a stake in the mission work beyond their parish boundary in cooperation with others and actively participate in significant mission initiatives that they couldn’t afford by themselves.
A Stakeholder church benefits from the support of dedicated Crosslinks staff. This includes the provision of everything from information and advice on potential Mission Partners and Projects through to a full parish consultation on mission strategy. Crosslinks Stakeholder churches also gain access to a range of mission resources and the availability of visiting preachers. God’s priority is taking salvation to the ends of the earth. It’s his mission and we are to adopt his agenda. The Stakeholder Scheme is an uncomplicated way for churches to become involved in authentic gospel work around the world.
By becoming a Crosslinks Stakeholder church you have the opportunity to participate in three different aspects of mission work:
1 2 3
Forging relationships with particular Mission Partners in different parts of the world. Sponsoring an overseas theological Study Partner. Adopting a specific Mission Project, from bible training in Myanmar to evangelism in Tanzania.
Crosslinks offers extensive experience in delivering the strategic planning, teaching, administrative, pastoral and prayer support required by these activities.

IN FRONT LINE MISSION Crosslinks has helped churches connect with Mission Partners working in more than 25 countries in a wide range of mission activity, particularly evangelistic outreach and theological training. At the front line of cross-cultural mission they deserve the steadfast support of home churches, and this is where the Stakeholder Scheme comes in. Churches’ interest and involvement through prayer, giving and communication constitutes gospel partnership. Crosslinks can help build and maintain these partnerships through a variety of means: phone and email links, prayer letters and Skype calls, and arranging preaching visits to partner churches.

IN TRAINING FOR MINISTRY Crosslinks bursaries (BEST: Bursaries Enabling Strategic Training) sponsors the training of gospel workers in many parts of the world. It can be hugely encouraging for a Study Partner to know that a church is supporting them in prayer or willing to give to them financially. Regular reports are sent back to churches.

IN GOSPEL INITIATIVES A Crosslinks mission project can be a great way to revive your church’s involvement in mission. Every year we select a number of projects of varying size and cost but always of significant gospel potential. Some churches might be able to take on the full cost of a project but the advantage of the Stakeholder Scheme is that smaller churches can have a stake in even the biggest project.
