How to Organise a Civil Wedding Ceremony‌. The first step the Wedding couple must take is to apply for approval to the Health Services Executive Civil Registration Office. Each couple must apply directly; the hotel may not apply on their behalf A member of this team will meet with the Wedding couple and review their application. When they are satisfied that both the hotel and the wedding couple meet the requirements, approval is then granted. Applications should be to the Health Services Executive Office made at least three months before the wedding, however, it is advisable to apply as far in advance as possible to guarantee requested dates. The hotel must complete a declaration form for each individual application and also ensure that the standards set out by the Health Service Executive Civil Registration Office are adhered to at all times.

Toast and Speeches Prior to the arrival of the Bride and Groom, a member of our team will advise the Best Man on grace before meals, cutting the cake, speeches etc.... He may call on the clergy to say grace before meals. We recommend that all speeches and toasts take place after the meal is served. The Best Man calls on the father of the Bride to make a speech followed by the Father of the Groom and after his speech he proposes a toast to the Bride and Groom. He then calls on the Groom to make a speech, after his speech he proposes a toast to the Bridesmaids. The Best man replies on behalf of the Bridesmaids and makes his speech. He may call others to make a speech. He reads the wedding cards and messages. He may call on the clergy to say grace after meals. Finally the Best Man calls on the guests to stand and raise a toast to the Bride and Groom.

Terms & Conditions These prices are valid for the year 2011 & 2012. Booking A provisional booking will be held for 2 week period and released automatically. On confirmation of your booking a deposit of â‚Ź1000.00 must accompany your signed contract. The prospective Bride and Groom must always meet a member of management by appointment prior to acceptance of the first deposit. Six months prior to your wedding date a further â‚Ź1000 deposit is required. Any cancellations must be made in writing and deposits are non refundable and non transferable. Please arrange an appointment with your wedding coordinator three months prior to your event to finalise details. Preferential accommodation rates offered to wedding guests are subject to availability. Please discuss with the wedding planner at the time of the booking. The reception menus & wines must be agreed two weeks prior to your wedding date. We cater for all dietary requirements. Final numbers of guests and table plan should be given no later than 48 hours in advance. These will be the numbers charged on the day. Any increase in numbers will be charged accordingly. Hotel Policies The Gresham Metropole hotel will not accept responsibility for any entertainment that has not been been reserved directly with the hotel. All entertainers must provide their own equipment and accept full responsibility for their equipment. Any event or entertainment will finish no later than 2am. Wines, wedding cake etc can be delivered to the hotel no later than 2 days in advance. Only food and beverage supplied by the hotel may be consumes on the premises. All items left in the hotel by your wedding party must be collected no later than 12 hours after your wedding party.

Bar Exemption Under the Intoxicating Liquor Act 2000 the bar will remain open on Friday and Saturday until 12.30am, and Monday to Thursday until 11.30. Should you require a Bar Exemption for your event applications must be made in advance of the event date. This will allow the bar to remain open until 1.30am. It is the policy of The Gresham Metropole Hotel to close on time, however a residents bar in The Met Bar is available until 3.30am. The Hotel operates a strict “Residents Only� policy. Security All wedding receptions require the presence of security personnel for duration of Bar Exemption. One security officer per 100 guests is required. Security personnel will be charged to the wedding bill at the current rate which will be confirmed prior to your wedding date. Children Children are always welcome at the The Gresham Metropole Hotel. Special menus can be made available or half portions served if preferred. Prices Please note menu prices are subject to change due to unforeseen price inflation or tax changes. Cancellation In the event of any cancellation by the client, the following cancellation charges will be incurred. Cancellation within 3-4 months of the event date will require 20% payment of the estimated event bill. Between 1-2 months of the event date will require 75% payment of the estimated event bill. Cancellation within a month of arrival date 100%. All cancellation must be in writing by both parties. Payment All accounts must be settled in full before departure. Payment can be made by cash or bank draft.
