Outcomes assessed: 5.2.1 explains the creative process of design used in the work of textile designers 5.3.2 evaluates the impact of textiles production and use on the individual, consumer and society 5.5.1 critically selects and creatively manipulates a range of textile materials to produce quality textile items Task Description: Research and Document the following information on an Australian Textile Designer. 1. Introduce the designer. Facts about their background, qualification etc.. 2. Investigate their Sources of inspiration – that is what, who, when have inspired this designer’s products. 3. Select two visual examples of their designs. Explain the functional and aesthetic factors affecting each design chosen. 4. Explain the designer’s target market and indicate what factors will affect the consumer demand. 5. Propose and justify a marketing strategy for this designer. 6. Include a bibliography of all sources used, including images. Refer to college diary for correct presentation. IMPORTANT: This work must be in your own words. DO NOT copy and paste. Presentation – must be word processed and reflective of the designer chosen.

Hand-in tasks must be submitted at the student office before 8:45am. Tasks submitted after 8:45am will have a late submission receipt attached to them and signed by the Student Office Staff. This will be handed to the Academic Care Coordinator who will note its receipt and pass it on to the relevant KLA Coordinator. If you are unable to hand the task in on the due date, follow the illness / misadventure policy outlined in your assessment manual. This includes phoning the College by 8:30am and obtaining documented evidence.
