n November 5, Junior Achievement of Northwest Florida hosted their Hall of Fame event at New World Landing. The special awards dinner recognizes individuals and businesses in the community that are the greatest champions in our area of youth financial literacy and workforce preparedness. The community leaders and companies honored each year have given service to Junior Achievement and its mission to inspire youth to succeed in a global economy. The honorees have given considerable time to Junior Achievement as volunteers, as well as financial support in order to help area youth learn how to obtain and maintain employment, manage money, and prepare to enter the workforce. The Hall of Fame event is held annually in November, and attendance is typically between 250 and 300 prominent community leaders. The event features students, teachers, volunteers, and community advocates sharing profound outcomes from the year’s classroom programming. Hall of Fame also includes a robust silent auction and other opportunities to support Junior Achievement’s mission. Each year Junior Achievement honors two special individuals in the community who are devoted champions of youth financial literacy and workforce preparedness. The 2019 Hall of Fame Laureates were Jerry Maygarden and Robert Rinke. Business award recipients this year were: Large Business of the Year- Navy Federal Credit Union, Small Business of the Year- Pensacola News Journal, Community Partner of the Year- Gulf Coast Kids House, and Entrepreneurial Spirit- Steve and Bobbi Reynolds of Cordova Lanes. The Volunteer of the Year went to Robin Verge.
