Further out than most of Siem Reap’s temples, Banteay Srei, or ‘The Citadel of Women’, is not to be missed. This 10th century Hindu complex, made out of deep red sandstone, boasts reliefs that are so delicate and precise that it’s said they could have only been carved by the hand of a woman. TRIP DETAILS
ITINERARY Day 1 Phnom Penh (Mon) Arrive to a friendly welcome in Phnom Penh and transfer to your hotel. Day 2 Phnom Penh Cambodia’s capital is the architectural ‘Pearl of Asia’ and home to the Khmer Rouge’s Tuol Sleng prison and the Killing Fields. Days 3-4 Siem Reap – Angkor Fly to Siem Reap and spend the following day exploring the temples of Angkor (Angkor Thom, Ta Prohm and Angkor Wat). Day 5 Siem Reap Visit Banteay Srei temple and the 12th century Preah Khan complex. Lunch at Sala Bai Hotel School and free time to explore Siem Reap. Day 6 Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) Fly to Ho Chi Minh City. A lively and friendly city, there is free time this afternoon to explore. Day 7 Ho Chi Minh City Time for shopping in the morning before visiting the labyrinthine Cu Chi Tunnels that enabled the Viet Cong’s control of this area in the 1960s.
Day 8 Danang – Hoi An Fly to Danang. Visit the Marble Mountains before driving to the historic city of Hoi An. Day 9 Hoi An A ‘cyclo’ is a kind of rickshaw and it’s the best way to see this ancient port city. There’s plenty to see and do, so enjoy a free afternoon to look around. Day 10 Hanoi Fly to Hanoi and explore the highlights of Vietnam’s capital in the afternoon, including the bustling backstreets of the Old Quarter.

Day 11 Halong Bay Travel by road to Halong Bay. Cruise among the 3000 limestone karst islands and stay onboard overnight.
