Ever in pursuit of the very finest furnishings and objects, Dutch design duo Jan and George Rutgers can often be found hunting for gorgeous antiques and contemporary pieces in Belgium, Italy, Spain, and France, as well as their native Holland. With their design tastes firmly rooted in Europe, the designers have been crafting interiors for a cosmopolitan global clientele for more than 20 years. And when they settled and set up shop in Sag Harbor five years ago, their rarefied yet restrained point of view was swiftly and warmly welcomed in America, too. “We fell in love with Sag Harbor right away because it’s a village with a European vibe in an idyllic old setting of Victorian homes
