J
essica Macon is a member of the South Greene High School cheerleading squad. Jessica’s academic achievements include: A-B Honor her freshman, sophomore and junior years, A honor roll her senior year, has completed dual enrollment classes at Walters State Community College, and graduated after her junior year with a 3.6
GPA. She received the Academic Merit and Bell Scholarships and received a King University Grant. She was accepted to King University as part of the King cheerleading squad. She has worked with the feeder school cheerleaders, is involved with Students Against Destructive Decisions, participated with the cheer team Relay For Life Team,
participated with FCCLA and HOSA as well as Talent Search. Her nominator stated, “Jessica had spinal fusion surgery due to her scoliosis before her sophomore year. Seeing pictures of her after surgery, I am still in amazement that she pushed herself to recover so that she could participate in cheerleading. In only eight months, she was at tryouts
jumping and dancing. She always has a positivity around her, a work ethic that a coach respects and wants on their time. Also during recover from surgery, her father passed away. She never let anything damper her spirit and persevered throughout. I respect her because she could have easily given up. What an amazing and inspiring young woman she is.”
