Anthony Smith

Head Coach of the Winter Garden Renegades Apopka, Florida March 22, 2014

Having a back-to-back game with the Spartans last week on March 15th… (Jacksonville Spartans 42, Winter Garden Renegades 30-makeup game) has its advantages than facing each other for the first time, which the Renegades experienced on March 15. “If you play a team twice in the season, they beat you; they generally came to do the same thing they did before. The losing the team really has an upper hand, and the coaching staff makes adjustment.” Smith stated The Renegades took on what they experienced with the Spartans the week before, brought more attention to the details, and applied that to this game. “We change things that they didn’t see.” Smith said Starting count for the Renegades was 18 players, and having reserves, sometimes causes more damaged. For some teams their reserves are set aside for only one position; however, that was not the case for the Renegades. “What I thought was a weakness in our team, has turn out to be a plus.” Smith said When your reserves are multi-positioned, as with some of the Renegades players, this seemed to be helped Smith out for a solid turn around in the third quarter. When halftime was over and Renegades realigned their offense and brought in a deeper connection into the third quarter, the Renegades powered over the Spartans with a 34-28 victory on their home turf. “Stay true to who we are.” Smith said Renegades next home game, March 29; they will the Treasure Coast Bengals from Fort Peirce, Florida. This home game is a Tribute for Fallen Heroes. Alice Mary Herden

Our team is ver y resilient” Gary Tittle..

Head Coach for the Jacksonville Beach Spartans…. Facing the Renegades… on the home field was comfortable but then on their first long travel game and after suffering some bang ups from the Renegades in the previous week as well, Tittle was not sure how that drive was going to affect his players. The first half was a strong hold for the Spartans; everything was well balanced with the players and it seemed they were in reach of another win over the Renegades. However, that was not the game plan for these men. “We went in with a game plan and I believe we got off the game plan in the second half.” Tittle said This could have been a great success in this game if that Spartan game plan stayed intact. There are different challenges within each quarter. Alignment changes and plays conjured up to throw in some twists from the opposing team, kept the Spartans unaware of how things are going, as well as testing the Spartans ability to handle these twists. “Sometimes you have to get slap around and show them (players) that you are not invincible.” Tittle said A team needs to have a solid competitive game, especially when they are on a winning streak. It is like facing a reality and grounded the players. It is more of a solid basic to experience from a team that is 4-2 in the league; it pushes them harder, builds up that energy, and bonds the family to face another top contender. {Speaking of family, the team owner Vishaun Grissett has his two of his brothers within the Spartan roster. Not only does Vishaun own the team, he plays along with his brothers as well. } The Jacksonville Beach Spartans joined the UFF because of competition, and they sure are getting their share. T

he omen has hit the United Football Federation again. The Power of Prayer had decided not to finish out the rest of the 2014 season and focus building a better team and solid establishment for the 2014/2015 season. This has been confirmed by the teams owner Ernest Ferguson. All of us here at the United Football Federation are looking forward to their return next season.

E

victions are definitely a part of the any football league. Players get too heated over a confrontation that it leads into something that becomes emotionally out of control. When that happens it leads to players being evicted from the game and sometimes the rest of the season.

W

ith only four games left in the season, every owner/coach needs to continue forward. Control what is controllable and set their sights on the play offs. This is what we have been playing for!

I strongly suggest you shadow as many teams as you can and ask as many questions as you ask. Knowing how is important and also building your team is just as important. Funds are the challenge not only for this sport but as with any other recreational sport. You pay to play, however the rewards are worth it.
