Teens Teen Writing Contest For Grades 7-12. Submit your original poem, short story, or something in our “random” category. Write something new, or polish something written for a school assignment. A winner and two runners-up per category will receive a gift certificate to the store of their choice. For details, contest rules and online entry form, see gvpl.ca/teenwritingcontest. TEEN VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES Reading Buddies: Teen Volunteers For ages 13-18. If you like working with children, enjoy reading, are fluent in English or French, and want to help emerging readers, we need you. We provide training and, upon completion, a reference letter outlining your volunteer hours. Registered. First-time Volunteers: please complete the Teen Volunteer Referral Form, available at gvpl.ca/teenvolunteers, and register for a Reading Buddies Training Session: the training is required for first-time Reading Buddies volunteers. Please bring your completed Teen Volunteer Form to training. Note: Don’t forget to register for your volunteer sessions, too.
