he Greater Lehigh Valley REALTORS® (GLVR) Diversity and Community Involvement Committee has awarded Christine Nicholson, a student at Easton Area High School, its first REALTOR® scholarship in the amount of $2,000.

Upon her graduation in 2020, Nicholson will attend the Greater Lehigh Valley Real Estate Academy, the highly regarded and primary source for real estate education in the Lehigh Valley. The Academy educates and develops future and current REALTOR® members into community leaders who advocate for their clients and are actively engaged in the REALTOR® organization. The scholarship was awarded to Nicholson after careful consideration by a REALTOR® interview panel of her scholarship application, essay, transcripts and in-person interview. The $2,000 scholarship will cover the Academy’s pre-licensing course, Association dues, and a year of Multiple Listing Service access. “Christine’s interview, for such a young candidate, was very impressive,” said Rob Ritter, an agent with Weichert Realtors® in Allentown and the vice chairperson of the Diversity and Community Involvement Committee. “She displays so much drive and ambition. I anxiously await her joining the REALTOR® ranks, as I am sure she will have great success.” Kim Lucas-Mantz, an agent with BHHS Fox & Roach in Bethlehem and the chairperson of the Education Committee, added, “It is very exciting to see our younger generation with drive and purpose. As a professional local organization, it is extremely important to bring future leaders into our very unique industry.” GLVR’s Diversity and Community Involvement Committee assists in efforts to promote adherence to local, state and Federal fair housing laws and develops programs to create broader understanding of cultural diversity issues among the members of the Association and their clients/customers and expand GLVR’s membership diversity. Furthermore, this committee is charged with identifying areas – such as this scholarship – that GLVR can serve the overall community through member support. “Congratulations, Christine, on your scholarship,” said Casey Foreman, an agent with Century 21 Pinnacle in Bethlehem and the chairperson of the Diversity and Community Involvement Committee. “The best is yet to come!”
