LETTER FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT

Dear Grandview C-4 Community,

I am always amazed at how quickly the years pass, especially since joining the District in 2014 This is an exciting and transformational time for Grandview C-4 as we continue moving forward to ensure every student is truly Future Ready

Thanks to our community’s overwhelming support of the 2024 $50 million bond, our facilities work is gaining momentum as we head into summer At the high school, we are completing a full renovation of the library/media center, which will also become the new home of our award-winning Bulldog TV broadcasting program. This reimagined space will serve students for years to come. We are also renovating the vocal music room to match the dramatic upgrades made to the instrumental music room through the 2021 bond. Fine arts have long been a source of pride in Grandview, and we remain committed to strengthening those programs.

This summer, we will continue elementary renovations to align with the significant improvements made at Belvidere and Conn-West last year In addition to HVAC upgrades and parking lot improvements across the district, we will open our new Operations and Training Center near the transportation facility This space will expand storage capacity, house our Information Technology operations, and provide a dedicated training center for district staff

Our academic work continues to advance as well We are steadily implementing the AVID college and career readiness framework to strengthen instructional practices, close opportunity gaps, and increase readiness for all students This multi-year effort will continue to build momentum In 2026, we will implement a new math curriculum across all schools, building on the successful Language Arts curriculum adoption in 2024 Together, these initiatives ensure rigorous learning experiences while providing the targeted support students need to thrive

We are also deepening our partnership with the Kansas City National Security Campus. Through this collaboration, more than 165 professionals have volunteered in our schools, connecting students directly with engineers and industry experts. Expanding career pathways remains a priority, with a focus on ensuring every student graduates with at least one Market Value Asset, such as an internship or client-connected project Over the past two years, 83% of our graduates earned at least one Market Value Asset, a tremendous achievement as we work toward our goal of all students graduating Future Ready, whatever path they choose

The future of Grandview C-4 is still being written, but it is bright, ambitious, and full of opportunity

LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

“I’m here to tell you that our schools have some amazing stories, just waiting to be told over and over throughout our community and beyond!”
HELEN RANSOM – SCHOOL BOARD PRESIDENT

People love a good story, and they love it even more when it’s a feel-good story I’m here to tell you that our schools have some amazing stories, just waiting to be told over and over throughout our community and beyond!

Did you know that last fall, our high school softball team came roaring back onto the scene after not even having a season the year before due to a lack of athletes? Not only did they play an entire 22-game season this year, but they got their first win in 5 years (and it wasn’t the only one), and one of their freshman pitchers smashed a school record for strikeouts in a game! Way to go, Lady Bulldogs!

Did you know that this fall we hosted educators from across the metro at a Project Lead the Way Showcase, where students from our elementary schools, middle school, and high school were showing off the knowledge and skills they’ve been learning in our classrooms? Our guests were so impressed with our students!

Did you know that our high schoolers are given amazing opportunities to earn real-world skills, certifications, and college credits now that will give them a leg up after graduation? We have several students earning their CNA (certified nursing assistant) certification this year, and others who are on the way to becoming CMA’s (certified medical assistants)!

Did you know we’ve had three ribbon cuttings already this school year? One for our brand new baseball & softball field, and two for extensive renovations at two of our elementary schools (Conn-West and Belvidere). And here’s a little tip - more ribbon cuttings will be coming later this school year, and we would love to have YOU there!

These are good stories, and they are just scratching the surface; even more are contained in the rest of this School Report! I’d encourage you to search Grandview C-4 on your favorite social media channels and give the district account a follow, then make plans to come out to a ribbon cutting, sporting event, musical, showcase, or concert to see for yourself what our amazing students are doing When you’re in the know, you can become one of the storytellers, and the more that good news spreads, the more the pride in our schools will grow, which then helps the community grow, and that’s good news for all of us

With gratitude,

FROM CLASSROOM TO CAREER: GRANDVIEW STUDENTS LAUNCH THEIR FUTURES AT THE KANSAS CITY NATIONAL SECURITY CAMPUS

FUTURE READY FEATURE

This year, five Grandview High School (GHS) graduates took a major step forward in their professional journeys by joining the workforce at the National Security Campus managed by Honeywell through our district partnership.

These students bring with them hands-on skills and industry certifications earned right here in Grandview. Several completed the Advanced Manufacturing Pathway at GHS, and others graduated through the T & L Welding Program, demonstrating the strength and depth of our career and technical education opportunities.

While in high school, these students learned how to read blueprints, handle precision tools, follow safety protocols, and problem-solve in real-world settings. Today, they are applying those same skills on the job in one of the most advanced manufacturing environments in the region, contributing to work that supports national security and innovation. This partnership reflects our shared belief that students deserve real pathways to real opportunities. It is a success story built on collaboration, preparation, and the determination of students who are ready to step into their futures with purpose. We are proud of our graduates and grateful to our partners at NSC managed by Honeywell for continuing to invest in our students, our schools, and our community. Future Ready. Purpose Driven. Grandview Proud.
