Local Scholars Recognized

At the testimonial banquet honoring the Grand Master on June 10, 2006, the Chairman of the Grand Lodge Scholarship Committee, WB Timothy R. Bennett, assisted by the Grand Master and by WB William F. Harvey, presented a number of local scholars with scholarships as follows:

Guorui Deng, School Without Walls Jian Zheng, Bell Multicultural High School Jasmine O. Stith, Cardozo High School The scholarship program of the Grand Lodge of the District of Columbia evolved out of a recommendation made to the Grand Lodge by the then Grand Master in 1987, L. Robert Baker. Since then the program has assisted hundreds of D.C. high school graduates to matriculate at colleges and universities throughout the country.
