During Grand Challenges Week 2016, students at the University of Exeter researched food sustainability and ways to combat food waste, as well as raise awareness of it. This fantastic presentation uses an evidence based approach, with students combining numeracy, analytical and creative skills to develop engaging & useful ideas for real projects & campaigns that address important issues. Students used a local focus, but one which can be applied in a global arena. Please be aware that this visual presentation would have accompanied more detailed verbal presentation.
Unique to Exeter, and linking strongly with the Education Strategy Graduate Attributes, Grand Challenges is an interdisciplinary, enquiry led learning experience which improves students' employability. During Grand Challenges Week students choose from a range of global issues and, supported by leading academics and external specialists, carry out group research in order to create a solution to their chosen Challenge.
