Graham and Woolnough have been providing the complete through lifecycle service in ship design and specialist marine technical support dating back to 1918. Established in Liverpool since 1918, Graham and Woolnough have from inception, delivered a diverse and wide range of seagoing vessels, and are proud to have served the marine industry for nearly 100 years. Over these years we have consistently provided bespoke services to our clients, we have delivered a comprehensive technical and diverse range of vessels such as a fleet of specialised irradiated nuclear material carriers for BNFL, two British Antarctic Survey vessels for NERC, a number of specialised floating cranes, pretty much every iconic Mersey Ferry since 1959 and even a couple of award winning transatlantic passenger liners have passed through our design office. We still provide a truly bespoke service to our clients reinforced with a comprehensive range of multi disciplinary marine and engineering consultancy services globally from our offices in the UK and USA. Naval architecture, marine engineering

and electrical, nautical surveying, and a range of other complementary specialist services still form the basis of our core offering, backed with the latest software and techniques. We are also able to provide our clients with a range of technical engineering staff at short notice to assist within a variety of project delivery areas, particularly relating to dry-docking, new build and offshore projects within the oil and gas sector. As well as the more complex technical aspects of design, Graham and Woolnough also provide a follow on commercial service for its clients. From the development and issue of the vessels technical specification, we are then able to assess and evaluate any range of priced tenders from the target shipyards. Commercial evaluation not only compares price but capability, track record and compliance against the client’s requirements. Nautical Survey and Specialist Technical Support “We provide a broad range of services in this field and rapidly react to our clients needs”. “Wherever, whatever, we can assist”. Technical Survey - Our teams have a wide range of experience in a broad range of disciplines. They are able to conduct surveys across a number of areas including hull and machinery, regulatory surveys on behalf of flag and all other relevant codes of practice. Loss Prevention – whether it is warranty work, a failure of lashings, or other general cargo considerations, we can provide a range of expert guidance and support relating to condition surveys, risk assessment, method statements, and vetting and specific audit requirements.

Marine Casualty, Salvage and Incidents – can occur for a variety of reasons. Whether it be collision, damage to cargo or personal injury we can evaluate and forensically analyse causal factors and make recommendations to prevent future occurrences.

Audit, Inspection and Certification – our expertise is in our ability to undertake a wide range and type of audit across a plethora of vessel types. Whether it is vetting and or fleet compliance, condition surveys, pre-purchase or tanker or terminal safety we are able to deliver a cost effective solution.

Ship Design, Calculations and Simulation – we offer a wide range of design, calculation, visualization and simulation techniques using the latest software.3D hull modeling, stability and hydrodynamic analyses are an in-house specialty. 5
