Dr. Azar joined Campbell Clinic in August of 1995 and currently serves as Chief of Staff. Azar specializes in elbows, knees, shoulders and sports medicine working with the Memphis Grizzlies, University of Memphis Tiger athletics program and Christian Brothers University athletics. A 1982 graduate of University of Notre Dame, Azar then graduated from Tulane University School of Medicine in 1989. He completed his residency at UT Campbell Clinic in 1994. In this role he oversaw the development, construction and operations of the hospital, which was the first newly licensed hospital approved in Mississippi in 25 years when it opened in August 2013. Dr. Beckford serves on the Tennessee State Board of Medical Examiners, a 12 member, all Governor-appointed board that is vested with the responsibility of ratifying all licenses or certificates for physicians’ assistants, acupuncture, clinical perfusion, polysomnography, genetic counseling, surgical assistants, medical spas, office bassurgery centers, and x-ray operators in medical doctor’s offices. Dr. Beckford is also on Otolaryngologist with University Clinical Health. He received his undergraduate at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio in biology, attended medical school and did his surgical internship at Howard University in Washington D.C. Dr. Beckford did his residency at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
