As Chief of Staff, Dr. McClain is charged with overall management responsibility of clinical affairs including the following services: Medical, Surgical, Psychiatry, Research and Development, Radiology, Physical Medical and Rehabilitation, Neurology, Ambulatory Care, Mental Health, Dental and Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, Dr. McClain leads one of the most complex facilities in the VA system which includes a two-campus medical center with 280 operating hospital beds, a 152-bed Nursing Home Care Unit and a 119-bed Domiciliary, eight Community Based Outreach Clinics with an annual operating budget more than $573 million and approximately 3,000 employees. Dr. McClain graduated from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in Little Rock, Arkansas and received a Medical Degree in 1993. She completed Psychiatry residency training, also at UAMS in 1997. She joined the staff at CAVHS and faculty at UAMS in 1998.

operations for Arkansas Children’s Northwest and is responsible for providing oversight and direction for operational, administrative and ancillary services at ACNW. McDaniel most recently served as the executive director of Medical Administration for Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH), overseeing physician workforce planning, contract administration and credentialing for more than 500 medical staff providers. Her journey with ACH began in 2007 when she became a volunteer in Child Life. After spending five years with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Department of Pediatrics, she joined Medical Administration at ACH in 2011 as senior project director before becoming executive director.
