Hirtshals Idrætscenter, Halvejen 4, 9850 Hirtshals

HIGH PERFORMANCE CAMP with some of the world´s best coaches

Helps People Think!

Welcome to the B75 International Table Tennis Christmas Camp 2016 The camp is a multicultural meeting place for table tennis enthusiasts such as neurological scientists, psychologists, physiotherapists, coaching professionals, pedagogues, table tennis trainers, table tennis leaders and sparring partners. Our aim is to create an environment that maximizes the table tennis training experience for each participant regardless of their age, gender, ability or cultural background. The camp is based on modern pedagogical principles and Lars Rokkjær’s theories and experiences in creating an optimal high performance training environments that stimulate human learning, motivation and personal development. This is enabled by attracting top global professionals that coach through a meaningful interaction with the players which is based on presence, mutual understanding, genuine care and active listening. The camp’s goal is to elevate the players’ level of selfrecognition by encouraging them to take ownership and responsibility for their own learning and development. It also allows the coaches to reflect on their own experiences creating a source for inspiration, skill development and continuous improvement. Another aspect that makes the camp unique is the structure of feedback between coaches and players as well as between the players themselves. Coaches and players meet in reflecting dialogues before and after

each training session, which are based on the player’s own experience of the practice in relation to their personal goal. The official language at the camp is English. Coaches, players and the organisers are always willing to help to interpret and translate where there may be some difficulty with this.

We are also delighted and proud that in November 2015, B75 was approved by the ITTF as one of their “HOT SPOT” network as part of their Education and Training Program. Our “Hot Spot” primary target group, are the coaches, therefore where appropriate, we will offer education for coaches in parallel with the camp. This will also enhance the player experience. If you wish to be one of the five active trainees, together with three coaches where you accompany them during their planning, reflection and training the cost is the same as the players. We are extremely thankful to all participants and voluntary staff for their valuable contribution and support to help us realise our dreams. On behalf of B75 we wish you a very warm welcome to our camp! Lars Rokkjær, Founder and Sports Manager of B75

STRUCTURE, DESIGN AND INFORMATION • The camp is 3 days each. • Players are divided into groups of 16 led by 3 top coaches. • There will be 2 practice sessions of 2½ hours every day. On the evening of the first day players will play matches allowing the coaches to evaluate the abilities and strengths of each player. It is possible that some players will be re-allocated into different groups to keep an appropriate balance in each group. • Check- in and check-out before every session. • There will be feedback sessions

All players will receive feedback from their personal coach. Players are expected to keep a diary for each day. This diary is an important part of the feedback exercise.

Coaches’ roles

The coaches’ task is to create an atmosphere where the players are a positive resource for each other. The coaches will listen and help the players to define their goals and to design practice sessions based on their individual needs. This empowers the players to take ownership of their own learning and development. The coaches will not give the players a final solution, but will work with them to find individual solutions. The coaches will record the players during play and practice using video/iPad. This will then be reviewed together allowing the players to see themselves in a critical eye and help to work on areas to improve and strengthen in their game.

Players’ roles

Players will be encouraged to cooperate with their personal coach to set goals and gain knowledge of how, they as a player can become their own coach. Players are expected to be open minded and share their experiences, observations and thoughts with the other players. As a player they will be invited to take control of their own learning. Player will be expected to adhere to the camp rules and show respect to other players’ needs.

Work preparation:

It’s important that the training at the camp is linked to the training, players and coaches are working with in their own club. All the players are invited on the application form to provide the following information with or without their trainer.

The questions are

How much do you train every week? What are you working with at your club now? What is your game plan? What are your strengths in relation to your game plan? What is your weakness in relation to your game plan? What goals do you have for your own development? What do you and/or your coach want us to help you with?

Bedtime rules are strict and need to be respected to ensure players have the energy for the following day’s intensive activities.

No alcohol is allowed for players and coaches under the age of 20 years. Gambling is not allowed on the premises of the camp. The working language at the camp is English.
