Trasimeno LaKe gets its name from an Etruscan origin. Legend tells that Prince Trasimeno, son of the Etruscan king Tyrrhenian, met the nymph Agilla in these lands. They fell in a love that ended tragically with the death of the prince. Since then, the lake was named Trasimeno. And when the wind caresses the lake’s waters you can still hear the melancholy lament of the nymph Agilla crying in search of her beloved prince.
