Rector's Forum: No Class March 11 Classes resume March 18 at 9:30 a.m. in Trezevant Hall. Sunday service times are 8 and 10:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Breakfast follows the 8 a.m. service and coffee hour follows the 10:30 service. 20-30@GSL Lunch (Mar. 11) 20-30@GSL is a group especially for those in their 20s and 30s to engage with other members of the church. If you would like to have your email added to the monthly lunch evite list, please contact Lucy Owens at firstname.lastname@example.org. Immediately following the 10:30 service on Mar. 11, we will head to lunch at Casablanca (Madison and Belvedere), courtesy of GSL! If you are in your 20sâ€“30s and looking for a little fellowship, whether you are new to GSL or already members, we invite you to join us for lunch.
Upcoming Dates to Remember
Theology Live (Mar. 14) We will gather at Calvary Episcopal Church (102 N. Second St.) on Mar. 14 at 6:30 p.m. for our March Theology Live with the Rev. Becca Stevens. Becca Stevens is an author, speaker, priest, social entrepreneur, founder and president of Thistle Farms. In 1997, five women who had experienced trafficking, violence, and addiction were welcomed home. The organization continues to welcome women with free residence that provides housing, medical care, therapy and education for two years. Residents and graduates earn income through one of four social enterprises. Thistle Farms helps employ more than 1,800 women worldwide, and the national network has more than 40 sister communities. Third Thursday (Mar. 15) The Memphis Aquifer: Past, Present & Future: All are invited to the Mar. 15 Third Thursday gathering. Our program will be presented by Dr. Brian Waldron, associate professor in the department of civil engineering in the Herff College of Engineering. He serves as the director of the Center for Applied Earth Science and Engineering Research which focuses on conducting research in water, GIS (or mapping) and urban analytics.
The start time is 6 p.m. for beverages and appetizers with dinner being served at 6:45. The program will commence at 7:15, and we will wrap up around 7:45. This is a parish event, and everyone is invited to enjoy an evening of fellowship and fun. The cost is $15 per person and this includes a social time with snacks, wine and attractive alternatives, a superb dinner, and program. Easter Flower Deadline (Mar. 23) If you would like to make a donation in honor of or in memory of a loved one for Easter flowers, you may send a check to the church office (ATTN: LUCY) listing the names of those you would like remembered. These names will be listed in the Easter leaflets if received before March 23. For your convenience, you may also pay online at www.gracestlukes.org/onlinegiving/.. Select the "Make a donation for altar flowers" link under "Memorials and Honoraria."
Moms of Young Kids (Mar. 25) Have you ever heard the saying, "the days are long, but the years are short" when people describe parenting? It does seem true, especially when parenting young children. The Moms of Young Kids is a group of GSL women hoping to build community, depend our faith, and support one another as we experience both the long days and short years. We welcome all moms of young kids (elementary school age or younger) to join us for coffee and conversation Sunday, March 25, at 8:30 AM in the lounge. Holy Week and Easter Palm Sunday: March 25, services at 8 and 10:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Before the 10:30 service, we will gather outside in the circle drive and process in. There will be activities for children in the circle drive before the service. Maundy Thursday: March 29, 7 p.m. Good Friday: March 30, 12:15 p.m. Easter Vigil: March 31, 7 p.m. Easter Day: April 1, services at 8 and 10:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. No classes, but there will be a visit from the Easter Bunny between the 8 and 10:30 services. An Easter egg hunt will begin at 9:45. The nursery is available for all services except 5:30 Palm Sunday and Easter Day.

Youth Choirs GSL’s two youth choirs, St. Cecilia Choir and Canterbury Choir, rehearse on Wednesdays. Rehearsal times are 4:30–5 p.m. for St. Cecilia Choir (for boys and girls in SK–2nd grade) and 5–6 p.m. for Canterbury Choir (for boys and girls in grades 3–6). Both choirs meet in the choir room at GSL and are under the direction of Music Associate Debbie Smith.
