Nissi beach, is a well-known sandy beach in the resort of Ayia Napa, Cyprus.

Cyprus is a Eurasian island country in the Eastern Mediterranean, east of Greece and south of Turkey. It is the third largest island in the Mediterranean Sea.

The Republic of Cyprus is de facto partitioned into two main parts; the area under the effective control of the Republic of Cyprus, and the Turkish-controlled area in the north, calling itself the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

FORM: What sustainable changes can we make to the existing floor plan that will create a new and exciting environment that will set the space apart from the current restaurant? To create a different environment we will bring in exciting sustainable features that are innovative and new to the neighborhood as well as the city. We will try to use as many existing materials as possible in transforming the space into a community based hub of local food and entertainment. FUNCTION: How can we create an environment that serves to multi-functioning dining areas? (Intimate, Large Parties, Bar, Lounge, Patio, etc.) We need to create different spaces that feel independent by having its own unique atmosphere while enhancing the restaurant as a whole.

ECONOMY: How can we design a restaurant that creates zero waste? To fulfill our mission of zero waste we need to educate our guests and staff and research new technologies and ideas. TIME: Can we design a floor plan that is flexible enough to expand for potential growth? To create a flexible floor plan that can easily be expanded upon and purchase furniture that is functional and mobile.

Nissi runs at a high level of energy efficiency through the use of Energy Star rated appliances and products

Daylighting is utilized whenever possible and non-natural light comes from reclaimed and recycled light fixtures that are used throughout. All fixtures are lit using LED bulbs.

100% Xorel Wallcoverings that are Cradle-to-Cradle Silver Certified by MBDC, SCS Indoor Advantage Gold, PVC Free, Anti Bacterial, Responsible Return Program
