In July 2010 a man named Tavo Hellmund said he had a longtime relationship with family friend Bernie Ecclestone, and it was this unique status, he proclaimed, that would allow him to succeed where whoknows-how-many others had failed. He would build a state-of-the-art F1 mega circuit in the wholly obvious location of Elroy, Texas, about 20 minutes outside of hip and thriving Austin. Approximately 120,000 fans would flock - oh, this was going to happen. Many didn’t believe it. There was little reason to when you considered F1's history in this country. And despite other’s disbelief, Hellmund and motorcycle racing legend Kevin Schwantz trudged through problem after problem, facing numerous issues that threatened the USGP in Austin. But in the end (cue the music) the crowds did flock and stared wide-eyed at the gorgeous 3.4-mile circuit that was everything he said it would be – the best facility showcased the best race of 2012. All right, now that the credits have rolled you are probably wondering what this has to do with MotoGP. Well, it only makes sense that after the success of F1, MotoGP gets a turn. And you know it will be good! As a complete, modern facility, the Circuit of the Americas stands absolutely unrivaled by any racing venue on this continent. Period. And as for the views? Excellent sightlines and the grandstands offer great views of more than a single corner or straightaway. If you love MotoGP, the circuit is the ice cream and the vibrant city of Austin is the cherry on top. It doesn’t get better than this!

V8 SUPERCARS AUSTIN Austin, Texas, May 19 NASCAR is as American as apple pie and V8 Supercar is as Australian as Vegemite. The love of V8 Supercar is no longer limited to the land down under as they have branched out globally to New Zealand, Bahrain and Abu Dhabi. The search for a venue to host the first V8 Supercars race in the United States ranked high on the list of priorities for series CEO Tony Cochrane, and less than a month later they found a partner in the new Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. While some American fans are unfamiliar with the size and importance of Australian's No. 1 racing series, it doesn't take long to appreciate how deeply ingrained it has become in the culture. V8 Supercars is on par with what we have here with NASCAR (it is one of the country’s top three sports) in terms of the level of interest and support it receives from fans. NASCAR fans tend to be more loyal to the driver, but with the V8s it's all about manufacturer loyalty. They have their driver favorites, but if you're a Blue Oval fan, that never changes, and vice versa.

RACE TICKETS

V8 isn’t just about the race; it’s just as much about the show. The V8 series have become event specialists - never is there a dull moment. Their thought is that if you’ve paid money to sit in the stands, you will be entertained every moment of the day. Who can argue with that philosophy? So when the Aussie’s head to Austin to bash a few fenders and make their USA introduction, why not join them and be part of this Inaugural event?

Responsibility: The tour services described in this brochure, including without limitation transportation, lodging, and sightseeing, are provided by carriers, hoteliers, and other suppliers that are independent contractors and not the agents, employed partners, or joint venturers of GPT. GPT issues tickets, vouchers, race tickets and other travel documents for such services merely as an agent for the companies that furnish such services. Such tickets, vouchers, race tickets, and other travel documents are subject to all terms and conditions of the respective suppliers (some of which may limit or exclude the suppliers liability). GPT is not responsible for typographical and/or printing errors. GPT nor any subagent, shall not be responsible for any damage to property or death or injury to person, resulting from any act or omission of any supplier providing any tour service or any other entity or caused by strike, war, acts of terrorism, weather, quarantine, sickness, government restriction or regulation, or any other cause beyond its reasonable control. Circumstances beyond our control could force us to alter, revise, or cancel any product outlined in this brochure. If GPT cancels a tour for which you have received final confirmation of deposit, we will attempt to offer an alternate product of similar standards. The tour participant waives all rights which he or she may have against GPT in connection with the foregoing. Terms and conditions are governed by California law and an Orange County venue. Under no circumstances is GPT to be construed as a carrier for safe carriage of the passenger or his or her baggage and belongings. Travel Documents: Final documents are sent by overnight delivery about two weeks before tour begins. Delivery charges will be added on your invoice. Sweepstakes & Prize Winners: At the time of booking, GPT must be made aware if the reservation is to be awarded to a sweepstakes, contest or prize winner. Furthermore, details of the contest must be disclosed to GPT and a copy of all documentation provided to the winner by the sweepstakes company about the prize must be submitted to GPT. Tour Photos: All photos and videos taken by GPT may be used for any reason, at any time, without permission of the client. This brochure and reservation form are valid for tours operated between February 2013 and February 2014.
