Our Core Values are the golden thread that binds our curriculum and learning experience.
We teach our children to become confident leaders, role model excellence, have high aspirations and ambitions and demonstrate resilience in the face of challenges to ensure their success and encourage
them to innovate upon strategies to improve in all they do, whilst enabling them to positively challenge themselves and others. It is our belief that making a culture and a ‘norm’ of these values will equip our children with the knowledge to become life-long learners.
Students gain confidence in reading and writing for multiple purposes by learning through high-quality texts. This helps them understand the material better and develop a greater appreciation for the topics they are studying.
Through daily, systematic, and highquality teaching using the phonics programme of Twinkl Phonics, students develop strong phonological awareness and effective blending and decoding skills, allowing for fluent reading and comprehension.
Through discussion, students learn to articulate their ideas, participate in debate, and gain confidence in speaking and listening.
Our curriculum focuses on teaching a broad range of mathematical concepts and calculation methods, whilst also promoting reasoning and critical thinking skills that can be applied to real-world situations.
Engaging through experiments, investigative explorations, and observations, our approach encourages students to ask questions, research, hypothesise, experiment, and evaluate their findings, nurturing their innate curiosity and developing analytical and logical reasoning skills.
Our weekly computing lessons are based on ‘Purple Mash’ which we customise according to the needs and interests of our students.
E-safety is an integrated part of the students education in todays digital world and is embedded in their learning.
Designed to help students develop their identity, relationships, and overall wellbeing, promoting diversity and equality, understanding their rights and responsibilities, and learning about consent and risk management.
Designed holistically, covering chronology, immersion, diversity, motivation, and personal records. The curriculum incorporates visits from historians and archaeologists, as well as local connections to places of historical interest.
Our four key areas cover locational knowledge, human and physical geography, and geographical skills and fieldwork.
Our aim is to help students become confident and competent artists and designers through practical, theoretical and disciplinary artistry, and the ability to recognise high quality works of art.
A stimulating and practical subject that cultivates creativity, imagination, and problem-solving skills. It is used across the curriculum to support understanding of its purpose and application in daily life.
We enable students to become physically confident whist supporting their health, wellbeing, and fitness. We strive for every child to fulfil their potential, and we offer opportunities for them to compete in sports and other activities, helping them build character and learn values such as fairness and respect.
We teach French using the Language Angels Scheme of Work. Our curriculum is designed to inspire students from Early Years to Key Stage 2, and to develop their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
Students develop their religious literacy in order to foster a solid understanding of, and respect for, a variety of cultural beliefs they acquire knowledge of a range of world views and religious beliefs, such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Islam, Sikhism and Humanism alongside a regular, more detailed study of the Christian faiths.
We use the Charanga scheme of work from EYFS to Year 6 to expose students to different genres of music and provide practical opportunities for them to explore and develop their musical skills.

Students enjoy outdoor learning and activities in our garden.
Our nursery space is designed to provide children with a safe and sun shaded enjoyable environment for learning through play. We believe that playing outside every day, regardless of the weather, is essential for a child’s development
The two classrooms are spacious and versatile, with a moveable wall that allows us to accommodate both smaller groups and larger gatherings with ease. Our reception outdoor space has its own play equipment and toys, creating a safe and fun environment for our little ones to learn and grow.
The lower school is home to the youngest students, including those in Nursery, reception, year 1, and year 2. They have their own dedicated hall outdoor play area and library space, which provides a safe and nurturing learning environment for them to thrive in.
Upper school is a fantastic place for students in years 3-6. One of the highlights of the school is the Ace Space, a play area that is sure to delight children of all ages. There is also plenty of green space for running around and more. The school’s largest hall is perfect for assemblies and events, and there is a computing suite, a library and the main school office.
Our school layout promotes effective learning on a accessible site, with spacious classrooms and plenty of designated outdoor play and learning spaces.
Our school has a unique provision that caters to the educational needs of children who are deaf.
The provision offers a bespoke learning environment for English and Math subjects, emphasising total communication. Our teachers are experts in their field and adapt their teaching methods and activities to provide the best learning experience for the students.
We recognise the importance of nurturing the whole child, including their deaf identity, social skills, and emotional wellbeing.
Our students are fully integrated into all aspects of school life and are given the opportunity to represent the school at various events. Sign language is taught in multiple ways, which benefits all students. Overall, the provision has proven to be highly effective in meeting the needs of our students.

At Glebe, children of all ages are presented with opportunities to partake in a diverse range of clubs. These include, basketball, football, cross country, netball, and gymnastics, to name but a few! It should be noted that many of these clubs are fully funded and free of charge.

The school has a comprehensive support system in place to help students with SEND. We work closely with parents and outside agencies to assess each student’s needs and create personalised plans that address their specific challenges. The school also provides extra resources and adaptations to support students with SEND,
such as assistant technology and specialised teaching methods, to ensure that these students have the tools they need to succeed academically and socially.
Additionally, the staff have received specialised training to help them understand and create a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
Miss Hembling is our SENCO and would be happy to discuss any further details with you.

For today’s busy family, finding childcare services that will meet their needs can be a daunting task.
A before and after-school program, providing a safe and nurturing environment focused on learning and recreation.
Our provision is all about providing your child with a safe, cozy space to learn and play before and after school. Our priority is to make your child feel at home!
We endeavour to provide an atmosphere and activities similar to those found within the home, incorporating cooking, craft, needlework, board games, reading, imaginary play, construction, sport and seasonal activities.
Breakfast is provided during the morning session where the children can choose from a selection of juices, healthy cereals, fruit and toast. During the afternoon session a snack and drink are provided, however, this is not intended to be a replacement for the child’s evening meal. We promote independence and children are encouraged to prepare their own meal and help clear away too.
Friends of Glebe Primary (FOGP) are a UK registered charity that supports the school.
The committee is made up of Glebe parents, school supporters, and teaching staff. Even grandparents, other relatives, and community friends can become members too!

All the money raised goes towards funding experiences and equipment for the benefit of all children at Glebe.
Recently, FoGP has made donations that include replacing play equipment, providing books, subsidising class trips and the annual Pantomime production.
