8TH GRADE INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM PROGRAM PHILOSOPHY: Preparation through immersion; Excellence through experience.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES: • Prepare students culturally and academically for 9th grade at a selective American boarding school • Enable students to place out of a graded ESL course as soon as possible; for students that will matriculate to Gould this means by the end of their 10th grade year or sooner • Provide students the ability to enroll and start their high school experience at Gould a year earlier; thus providing them with exposure to Gould’s schedule, specialty programs, and culture

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: • Tuition = $17,000.00 | International Fee = $1,000 Health Insurance estimated at or below $1,000.00 • Availability 8 male students • 4:1 teacher student ratio • Diversity of countries • Participants given priority preference in the high school admission process

The schedule is designed to simulate a typical fall trimester day for a Gould 9th grader 7:00 AM

APPLICATION PROCESS • Applications will be considered as they are completed; applications will be accepted until the program is at capacity. We anticipate not to be accepting applications after January 10, 2017 • Application Requirements: 8th grade applicants should submit the TABs common application • $100.00 Application Fee • Student and Parent Biographical information • Student Essay • Parent Statement • Interview (On Campus or Via Skype.) • Transcript from current school • Two Teacher Recommendations • Standardized Testing: at least one of the following: • TOEFL or TOEFL junior • SSAT • Gould Academy language and academic aptitude test Please note we do not have minimum test scores, average TOEFL scores are between 87-91; average SSAT scores are between 1900-2100.
