Rev. Jesse Jackson joins Rev. Al Sharpton in supporting President Obama's call for support behind gay marriage Rev. Jesse Jackson has joined Rev. Al Sharpton in supporting President Obama's call for support behind gay marriage. Jackson even went so far as to compare the gay marriage issue to the fight against slavery and laws that kept blacks from marrying whites. "This is a bold step in the right direction for equal protection under the law for all citizens," Jackson told the Los Angeles Times. Jackson then called for black preachers to address the issue with their congregations on Sunday. He mentioned that gays and lesbians are fighting for the country and teaching America's children. He even said that they are leading congregations within many black churches. He urged Americans to remember that gay marriage isn't taking rights from anyone else, but rather, opening the door for everyone to have the same opportunities.
"You may choose your mate, but you cannot deny someone else the right to choose their mate," Jackson said. "The law protects you from being abused. It doesn't threaten your lifestyle for someone else to have the right to exhibit their lifestyle," he later added. Al Sharpton's statements were in lockstep with those of Rev. Jackson. "I salute President Obama's statement today supporting same-sex marriage," the Rev. Al Sharpton said in a statement that went on to add: "This is not about mine or anyone's personal or religious views. It is about equal rights for all. We cannot be selective with civil rights. We must support civil rights for everybody or we don't support them for anyone." [This article was posted by James on 5/13/12 on the social web site, www.blacklikemoi.com. New York Pastor Responds to Obama Endorsement of Same Sex Marriage
I am deeply saddened to learn that under great pressure President Barack Obama, the first U.S. President of African-American descent, has now endorsed same sex marriage. True marriage is a union only between a man and a woman in the sight of God. Americans must now face the harsh, jagged-edged reality that the upcoming Presidential election will be between the first President to openly support same sex marriage and a Morman – a belief system which is not traditional Christianity. Some learned scholars declare that the Morman religion [founded by Joseph Smith in New York, USA in the late 1820s – and possessing their own Bible] is a cult. From a totally honest Judeo-Christian perspective, it would be an absolute sin before God to vote for either one of these candidates at this point. Therefore, we must pray for a major change before the next Presidential election. Pray for Obama and Romney, and push extremely hard for a major write-in campaign to support a solid candidate with traditional family values. Pastor Arthur L. Mackey, Jr., Senior Pastor Mount Sinai Baptist Church Cathedral Roosevelt, New York [Gospel USA Magazine welcomes public points of view on this issue for publication in our next issue.] gospelusamagazine.com

Some Biblical Facts About The Return Of The Messiah (so that you won't be deceived)
By Cecil L. Brown, Gospel USA Magazine Publisher
Who is the Messiah (also called the Christ, the Son of God, the Son of Man, the Bridegroom and other names)? Matthew 16:13-16 says: When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Eli'-jah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. (KJ).
How will the Messiah return to Earth? Acts 1:11 (NIV) says: "Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven." Matthew 24:27,30 says: For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. Revelation 1:7 says: Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. Revelation 19:11-16 says: And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. (KJ).
How did the Messiah leave Earth? Acts 1:9-11 says: And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. (KJ). Before the Messiah left Earth, what did He say about the coming, false messiahs? Matthew 24:3-6, 23-26 says: And as he sat upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. (KJ). gospelusamagazine.com
What will be the end result of the Messiah's return to Earth? Revelation 11:15 says: And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. (KJ). 7

Byron Cage The Prince of Praise Releases His New and Ninth CD... "Memoirs of A Worshipper"
yron Cage, who has become a household name in Gospel music after such top 10 worship anthems as The Presence Of The Lord and I Will Bless The Lord, is pouring his heart out in his new and ninth CD entitled, Memoirs of A Worshipper, available on the Verity Gospel Music Group label. Collaborating again with Aaron Lindsey, who produced Cage's 2009 release, Faithful To Believe, the 11-track CD, recorded at Chicago's Christ Universal Temple, showcases Cage's personal desire for a deeper relationship of worship with God.
taught it to the music department at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church in Fort Washington, MD where Cage has served as Minister of Music for 15 years. The praise team started singing it at church and he says "we saw the power of the Lord come in to the service," he remembers. "So, when I started working on this album, I thought about it and said I want to put that on the CD."
"I kind of chronicle my journey in ministry and it shows people where I've been," Cage says of Memoirs of A Worshipper. "My last CD was recorded when the recession began, and the struggles people began to go through made me write a little different on that CD. It was the type of album to build up the faith of God's people. For this new CD, I collectively put songs together with Aaron Lindsey that I felt would be the next level of worship. What I really wanted to bring out on this CD was to share with everybody what I'm writing and what's in my memoirs. Although I'm still giving the message of faith and a message of hope, this is a stronger worship album."
Other highlights on Memoirs of A Worshipper include Gratitude, which sets the tone for the CD with the sound of a delicate piano underscoring a majestic praise ballad; The Latin-inspired Victory featuring Fred Hammond; Troubles Away, a fusion of '60s dance and a Caribbean carnival that instantly puts listeners into a festive mood; and Good Anyhow, a cover of Rudolph Stanfield & New Revelation's 1990 classic, He's Good Anyhow. "I've been a fan of Rudy's for many years," says Cage. "Choirs used to sing that and I said, 'I'm going to reach back and do that song... I put a new vamp on it and it was one of the highlights of the night." Cage was a featured performer on the McDonald's Gospel Tour, which began June 14th in Birmingham, AL and made stops in Jackson, MS; Dallas, TX; Philadelphia, PA; Detroit, Ml; Chicago, IL; Atlanta, GA and Fort Washington, MD. On July 8th, Cage made his Essence Music Festival debut and delivered a rousing set as part of the weekend's Gospel Tribute.
Fast becoming a new anthem, Great And Mighty is the first single off of the CD and it has already reached the top 10 at Gospel radio. Cage discovered Great And Mighty four years ago when a friend sent him a copy of it. He instantly liked it and gospelusamagazine.com

he 2012 Gospel Music Workshop of America National Convention was truly a wonderful event. One of the highlights was the Quartet Division's S a l u t e To Q u a r t e t Pioneers Banquet. At that event, Bro. Tyrone Porter, Sis. Faye Pointer and the amazing Quartet Division staff paid tribute to some of Gospel's living Quartet legends. The honorees included Rev. Andrew Cheairs & The ZaDella Curtis (foreground) and daughter T'Mil Songbirds, Dr. Bobby Jones, Evelyn Turrentine-Agee and Gospel USA Magazine's own Dr. ZaDella "MaMa" Curtis. MaMa Curtis is a well-known Gospel radio promoter, announcer, national lecturer and advocate for educating and empowering Quartet artists concerning the business side of the industry. This prestigious event was the latest to recognize her contributions to the Gospel music industry. We at Gospel USA Magazine are pleased to spotlight her and have her on our team. Procedure for critiquing products: A score of 1 to 10 points are awarded in each of ten ratings categories (sound quality, vocal ability, musicianship, CD cover design, packaging, etc.). The points are totaled and the 30 songs which receive the most points are listed numerically on the chart. There is a one-time fee of only $125 to have a song critiqued by us ($75 with purchase of any size ad), but paying the fee does not guarantee the song will make the chart. Making the chart is achieved solely on the merits of the song itself. Each song which makes the chart is also listed on our web site along with a link to its web site, if available, so that our readers can sample the song. To obtain a critique of YOUR song, just send us the song with payment. gospelusamagazine.com 17

Rev. Dr. Ruth Singletary Speaks Out On The Issue of Same Sex Marriage
believe that the Bible is God's Word. Although man physically wrote the Bible, the divine truths found therein were inspired by God. II Timothy 3:16 says, all scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. If God had made Adam (a man) and told him to marry Steve (another man) – then I would believe in same sex marriage. But Genesis 2:21-25 says God took a rib from the man and made a woman, and brought her to the man. The man and his wife were both naked and not ashamed. Genesis 3:20 says Adam called the woman Eve [not Steve]. Everyone has the right to believe what they want to. Likewise, everyone has the right to go to heaven or hell, if they choose to oppose God. God told Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply. I don't see how Adam married to Steve can be fruitful and multiply! Don't be like the Biblical beast in Revelation 13:6... "And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, and His tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven." I love all Presidents who love and believe in God. President Obama, if you serve God and keep Him first – He will bless your presidency, your legacy – AND OUR NATION. [This space was purchased by Rev. Dr. Ruth Singletary of Bronx, New York. RAY MANNING SINGERS
Dear Dr. Carl: My brother has been paying his tithes to me because I am a widow. Do widows have to pay tithes? I did not see anything in the Bible that says they do. – Reader
Dear Reader: It is my personal opinion, based on Scripture, that everyone should pay tithes. This is based on Malachi 3:9 which says “ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.” No doubt, there were widows in the nation who found themselves cursed because they did not honor God with their tithe. Now regarding your brother giving his tithe to you because you are a widow, Malachi 3:10 says, “Bring ye ALL the tithes into the storehouse that there may be meat in MINE house… saith the Lord of hosts.” Tithes are to be paid to the house of God. It is fine for your brother to provide you with an offering, but you should not receive his tithe. His tithe belongs to God. I suggest that he also pay a tithe to his church, and that you pay a tithe to your own church on the money he gives you each month. – Dr. Carl [To read more of Dr. Carl's answers, visit www.carlbentleyministries.org.]

Pimp, Pastor, Pulpit And Prostitute by Bishop WH Dawkins, Jr. This book speaks about leaders pimping and prostituting the Body of Christ, leaving faithful givers and supporters hopeless, broke, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and sometimes physically. God has given Bishop WH Dawkins, Jr. a mandate to expose many of the schemes and tricks the enemy has used to bamboozle the people of God and minister a word of healing, deliverance and wholeness. This book has been written to let those know that have experienced being taken advantage of by leaders that we trust and the list of these types of devistations go on and on. – Dr. Inga Johnson.
