The Truth About "Time" S By Cecil L. Brown, Gospel USA Magazine Publisher

The summary is this: Man is a spirit being who lives in a physical body and can experience life in at least two realms -- physical and spirit. When we are operating in the physical realm (awake), we experience the physical now. When we are operating in the spirit realm (sleep), we experience the spiritual now. And by the way, when we are operating in the spirit realm -we travel and work at the awesome speed of thought.

ince the beginning, Man has pondered the following two questions: (1) Can humans actually travel through time -- and if so -- (2) is it possible for us to change something we did (or did not do) in the past -- and thereby cause something to happen (or not happen) in the future? In this message, I will share with you -- THE TRUTH ABOUT TIME! First of all, know this: There is no such thing as spiritual time. The fact is this: In the spirit realm -- time does not exist. There is only eternity. Therefore, in the spirit realm, events do not take place in the spiritual past or the spiritual future -- they only take place in the spiritual now.

Think about this: Even if Man could travel to “ten years from now” -- or to anywhere else in the so-called past or future -- once he got there -- it would again be now. Why? Because as I said earlier, Man (you and I) are consciousness (awareness). And wherever consciousness (awareness) is -- is now (the present)! That is why many seers (pronounced see-ers) believe the secret to “time travel” can be found -- not in machines -- but rather in our own brain, mind and ability to dream.

So, what is physical time? Physical time was created by God (using the sun, moon, etc.) in order to give physical Man the ability to measure history and mathematically keep everything from happening all at once -- which is actually the way everything IS happening! In other words, everything in human history that ever will happen -- has already happened -- and still IS happening right now! "Tomorrow" is not something that is coming -- tomorrow has already happened. Ecclesiastes 3:15 is clear: “That which has been is now; and that which is to be has already been; and God requires that which is past.” Also read Isaiah 14:24 & 27 – and others. Therefore, in the physical realm – just as it is in the spiritual realm – events do not take place in the physical past or the physical future – they only take place in the physical now.

So -- here is THE TRUTH ABOUT TIME: The only physical or spiritual “TIME” there is -- is "NOW"! In a future message, I will share my views on the second part of this question -- can Man do (or not do) something to change history? For a sneak peek at my current views on that subject, read my messages entitled, "Why Humans Must Sleep" and "The Difference Between Truth And True." Both are available in Gospel USA Magazine.

When is now? Now is the present. When is the present? The present is not a when (as in time) -- it is a where. Where is the present? The present is wherever consciousness is. What is consciousness? Consciousness is not a what (as is an object) -- it is a who. Who is consciousness? MAN (among others) is consciousness. We are not physical beings -- we are spirit beings (consciousness / awareness). We dwell in a physical body while here on Earth. One day, our body will die or be changed, then the real us -- which is spirit -will continue to exist forever somewhere in eternity.

Until the next time, consider this sobering truth: Your physical death on earth is not something that is going to happen -- it has already happened!! Therefore, all you can do now is... prepare to meet it!! Your email or postal mail comments are welcomed. 7

rom singing in the church, to her rise competing on NBC's The Voice, to having a number one gospel single – Koryn Hawthorne appears unstoppable. Not surprisingly, Unstoppable is the title of her first fulllength album released July 13, 2018 on RCA Inspiration. Singing professionally is all the twenty-year-old has ever wanted to do. "Jesus is the foundation of everything that I do," she explains. Koryn's first hit single, "Won't He Do It," was originally written and conceived for the soundtrack of Greenleaf, the TV drama on Oprah Winfrey's OWN Network. The record-breaking, #1 smash hit spent 35 weeks at #1 on Billboard's Hot Gospel Songs chart – making history for the longest reign at #1 by a female artist on that chart. The song features Roshon Fegan and won a Dove Award for Contemporary Gospel/Urban Recorded Song of the Year. The full-length album and its lead single, Unstoppable, expresses Koryn's relentless pursuit of God's plan in her life. "I feel like God gave me a specific purpose and so no matter what, nobody is going to stop me from doing that. I'm going to fulfill the purpose He has for my life. With God being unstoppable, that makes me unstoppable." For more information about Koryn Hawthorne, visit her website at and follow her at

he Dixie Hummingbirds, one of the most enduring and influential gospel groups of all time, announces their "90th Anniversary Celebration: The Magnificent Flight of the Dixie Hummingbirds" – a year-long series of related activity surrounding this unprecedented milestone among active gospel groups. The announcement was made in Philadelphia by Ira Tucker, Jr., leader of the legendary group, whose late father, Ira Tucker, Sr., became its lead singer in 1938 as the group signed with Decca Records and was first propelled to national prominence, ushering in the hardsinging style of gospel music's 1940s and 1950s golden age. The schedule of activities will combine live performances, special appearances, salutes and tributes. The Dixie Hummingbirds were formed in 1928 in Greenville, SC. They made their recording debut in 1939 and their singles include "Soon Will Be Done With The Troubles Of This World," "Little Wooden Church" and "Joshua Journeyed To Jericho." In 1942, they relocated to Philadelphia where founding member James B. Davis bought a house. The current members are Ira Tucker, Jr., Lyndon Baines Jones, Torrey Nettles, Carlton Lewis, Troy Smith and Roy Smith. For more, contact (Credit: Julieanne Harris).

Defining The Three Types of Media

eleasing a new single or album, getting bookings and selling your music takes more than just duplicating discs and throwing a party. You've got to get the word out. But with so many methods of promotion, marketing, and so many outlets for music discovery – it can be difficult to know where to focus your efforts. This excerpt is from an article written by Randy Chertkow and Jason Feehan. It will help you identify and navigate through one of the main ways to get the word out – Media. As any successful national brand can tell you, your project is going to need press and buzz. Here are the three types of Media:

Traditional Media - Newspapers, magazines, zines, radio, and television. Getting coverage from these outlets takes time and connections, usually 3-4 months ahead of your project's release date.

Social Media - Social media are promotional outlets built on word-of-mouth as documented over the web and mobile platforms including sites such as Facebook, Twitter and InstaGram. Social media is all about what's happening now. Getting the word out about your project is a constant process that should happen all of the time – not just once.

New Media - Born out of the web, these media outlets include blogs, MP3 blogs, podcasts, video podcasts and websites. These outlets crave immediacy. Getting on these outlets is usually about connecting with them right before and right after the project is out.

Procedure for critiquing products: A score of 1 to 10 points are awarded in each of 10 ratings categories, including sound quality, originality, talent, air play received, national charting elsewhere, marketing and even the design of the CD cover. The points are totaled and the 30 songs which receive the most points are listed numerically on the chart. There is a one-time service fee of only $75 to have a song critiqued by us, but paying the fee does not guarantee the song will make the chart. Making the chart is achieved solely on the merits of the song itself. To submit your song for chart consideration -- call 305-234-8689.

askdr. carl Dr. Carl answers your questions Dear Dr. Carl:

Should Christians Carry Guns To Protect Themselves? – D. Harry Dear D. Harry: In this day of increased danger and lawlessness, it seems as if more and more Christians are turning to firearms in order to protect themselves. Often people who live in rural areas have guns to fend off wild animals. Others such as hunters may possess a gun as a sporting tool. Gun ownership is a personal decision. I will say this, however: followers of Christ should be aware of His teaching in Saint Matthew 26:52 that says all who take (up) the sword shall perish with the sword. If you think that you need a gun for protection, remember that when Paul and Silas were locked in jail, they prayed and sang praises. God dispatched an angel to set them free. Daniel was in the lions' den, yet the Lord protected him there, just as He protected Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego from the fire in the furnace. David testifies of God's ability to keep us from danger in Psalm 139:10, which says God shall hold us in His right hand. Saints of old, who did not carry guns, used to "plead the Blood" whenever in danger. There are many other references in the Bible that speak to this issue. Study the Word, then decide for yourself. Whether or not you carry a gun is up to you. – Dr. Carl
