LOOKING AHEAD

WELCOME BACK TO GCT! This is our first Whatʼs On Guide since the beginning of last year, what a journey we have all been on since then. I want to offer my sincere thanks for all of your amazing support and patience over the last year and a half. I hope you have been able to pop into GCT since we reopened to enjoy a socially distanced performance, or to sample a meal from our new menu, or even just to use our snazzy new toilets. As you can see, we have been very busy while our doors have been closed; we have improved the building as much as we could afford; we have streamed gigs and performances for our online audiences; and we have supported our learning-disabled company members during a very difficult time. We have also been making exciting, and ambitious plans for our future. Weʼd like to thank our community, beneficiaries, staff, and trustees who have all been involved in shaping these plans. We look forward to sharing the details with you very soon! Finally I would like to say how amazing it feels to be sharing this What's On Guide with you, none of us know what the future holds, but rest assured that we will continue to work as hard as we can to bring people together at GCT for many years to come. Yours Sincerely,

Rob Huggins CEO, Liberdade Community Development Trust

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SUPPORT THE WORK THAT WE DO YOU CAN MAKE A DONATION ANY TIME ONLINE, IN PERSON OR VIA GOSFORTHCIVICTHEATRE.CO.UK/SUPPORT-US

WHO ARE WE? Gosforth Civic Theatre is run by Liberdade Community Development Trust. Liberdade is a disability arts charity that supports people with learning disabilities. Our mission is to raise everyoneʼs expectations about what people with learning disabilities can achieve. Liberdade's learning-disabled theatre company members wanted: 1. Their own building to work in. 2. A building that other people could come into and use. 3. Jobs in that building To make that happen we created Gosforth Civic Theatre in 2016. The theatre is an amazing place that seeks to bring everyone together to help generate understanding, creativity, and change. Our learningdisabled company members are creating the world they want to live in and everyone is invited. We believe that the more people feel that they are part of something the more they value it, we are looking to create opportunities for everyone to get more involved at GCT. So, to stay tuned, and keep up to date with new developments please join our membership and/or visit our website.
