vs. Minnesota & Alabama• January 30 UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - No. 19 Penn State women's gymnastics team took second place in their second home meet of the season on Saturday when they hosted No. 1 Alabama and No. 23 Minnesota. Alabama took first with a 196.600, the Nittany Lions placed second with a season-high 196.025 and Minnesota took third with a 192.850. Freshman Sharaya Musser was named the Ann Carr Award winner as PSU’s top performer on three events against Minnesota and Alabama.

vs. Cornell, Iowa &Yale • January 23 UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The No. 22 Penn State women's gymnastics team opened its home slate with a first place finish in a quad meet with Cornell, Iowa and Yale. The Nittany Lions scored a 195.325 for top honors, Iowa took second with a score of 192.175, Yale finished third with a score of 186.125 and Cornell placed fourth with a 185.750. Penn State opened the meet on vault where the team tied the program's all-time high score with a 49.500. The Lions scored a 49.100 on the uneven bars, a 47.825 on beam and closed out the meet on floor with a team score of 48.900. Senior Brandi Personett was the Ann Carr award winner after scoring the first 10.0 on vault since Katie Rowland in 2003 and taking the all-around title with a score of 39.575. Sophomore Whitney Bencsko also competed in the all-around and finished second with a 38.675. Five Nittany Lions finished in the top five on vault, with Personett leading the way with a 10.0. There was a three-way tie for second between seniors Casey Rohrbaugh and Rosie Smith and Bencsko. Each member of the trio scored a 9.900 on the event. Junior Danielle Hover finished fifth with a 9.800. Freshman Sharaya Musser finished tied for seventh scoring a 9.775 to finish the PSU competitors. Penn State moved to the uneven bars for the second rotation. Sophomore Natalie Ettl earned the title with a career-high 9.900. Senior Alexandra Brockway finished second with a 9.875 and Musser took third with a 9.825. Personett placed fifth on bars with a 9.800 and Smith tied for seventh place with a 9.700. The Nittany Lions took the top three spots on beam. Personett won the event with a 9.875, while Bencsko scored a 9.750 for second place and Rohrbaugh posted a 9.725 for third. Hover finished 11th with a 9.275 and sophomore Daryl Konsevick placed 13th with a 9.200.

Freshman Sharaya Musser was Penn State's Ann Carr award winner. She was Penn State's top performer in all three of her events. Alabama's Morgan Dennis took home the all-around crown with a score of 39.275. Sophomore Whitney Bencsko took second to lead Penn State with a season-high 39.200. Senior Brandi Personett was fourth with a 38.350. Penn State wowed the home crowd with season high scores on both balance beam and floor with 49.050 and 48.925 respectively. The Lions scored 49.225 on vault and a 48.825 on the uneven bars. Musser and Personett led the Nittany Lions on vault both scoring a 9.900 for a three-way tie with Alabama's Dennis for second. Bencsko placed seventh with a 9.850, senior Casey Rohrbaugh tied for eighth with a 9.800 and senior Rosie Smith placed 10th with a 9.775. Alabama's Geralen Stack-Eaton took home the title with a 9.925. Musser was Penn State's leader on bars with a second place finish and a score of 9.875. Sophomore Natalie Ettl finished tied for seventh with freshman teammate Madison Merriam with a 9.800. Bencsko took ninth with a 9.775 and senior Alexandra Brockway rounded out the Nittany Lion performers with a 9.575 for 14th. Alabama's Ashley Priess won the event with a 9.925. Senior Allie Southard and Musser tied for fourth on beam with a 9.825 to lead the Lions. Southard's score was a season-high. Sophomore Daryl Konsevick (Rutherford, N.J.), Bencsko and Personett all tied for sixth with a 9.800. Alabama's Priess took top honors with a 9.900. Penn State closed out the meet on floor. Personett won the floor title with a 9.900, while Konsevick and Bencsko tied for fifth with a 9.775. Merriam finished tied for eighth with a 9.750 and Rohrbaugh tied for 10th with a 9.725.
