With son Ryan walking Kim down the aisle, daughter Shenaed as her Maid of Honour, son Scott as Steve’s Best Man and daughter Stephanie as the photographer the bride and groom said their vows on April 2, 2016 in a little chapel in Glen’s home. The wedding ceremony, like the ceremony in Mexico, was simple and classic. The pastor who married the couple was a friend from Barrie. Guests included Shenaed’s husband Marcio, Stephanie’s boyfriend Jordan, Ryan’s girlfriend Elissa, Steve’s parents and their spouses, and the groom’s brother who travelled from Florida with his wife and two daughters. The wedding party and guests later enjoyed a delightful dinner and celebratory evening at The Cork Restaurant in Elora. “The wedding in Elora was very emotional for me for some reason,” Kim recalled. “I had a hard time just getting through my vows and made everyone else in the chapel emotional, too. Our wedding was something I had wanted for a long time. I felt overwhelmed because it was actually happening.” An oceanfront gazebo set beneath sunny skies and waving palm trees was the setting for Kim and Steve’s intimate wedding ceremony in Mexico. Simple glass vases of white roses echoed the flowers wrapped in the bride’s bouquet and carried as nosegays by daughters Stephanie and Shenaed. with white accents. The girls’ flowing, floral print dresses were discovered and bought by their parents at Guess. Kim walked down the aisle to Christina Perri’s ‘A Thousand Years’ in an elegant sleeveless white lace gown. “At this ceremony in Mexico as it was in Elora, daughter Shenaed was my Maid of Honour, son Scott was Steve’s Best Man, son Ryan walked me down the aisle and daughter Stephanie was the photographer,” said Kim, fondly. “Our children were thrilled to go to Mexico for the wedding. It was a nice holiday for everybody.” After the ceremony, the couple held a welcome party for their guests on the beachfront between the gazebo and a second gazebo where the reception was held. Guests enjoyed champagne and hors d’oeuvres before strolling to a buffet dinner of chicken, beef, fish, vegetables and pasta followed by cheesecake. The night finished with a fabulous party at the Hard Rock’s Club Heaven. “At Club Heaven, everyone had a great night of dancing including our son Scott who was really kicking it up with his grandmother,” Kim recalls with a smile. “All of our guests, except a couple staying at another resort, were with us for the entire week. It was a fantastic vacation for everybody. The first time we went to the Hard Rock was with a group of friends. When we went back this time, some of them were with us again. The only thing we wanted for our wedding was for our family and friends to come and be with us on our special day.”
