The rustic reception décor included old wooden window frames that displayed the couple’s engagement photos, wood boxes handmade by the groom for the centrepieces and homemade strawberry jam guest favours made by Raeanne and her mother-in-law. A tag on the jam said ‘Spread the Love’. An innovative barbeque buffet offered guests shrimp, smoked pork tenderloin, and BBQ pogos for appetizers and steak, potatoes, vegetables for dinner. The Matron of Honour created a naked three-layer wedding cake decorated with clusters of white flowers that hid a motorcycle to commemorate the groom’s Harley. During dinner, the newlyweds would honour kiss requests if the requestor could name the tune played by the DJ. 38 Wedding trends 2017

“If they got it wrong, someone at their table had to kiss,” said Raeanne. “Not a lot of tables actually did it, which was fine.” After guests danced the night away, they were ready for the McDouble hamburgers pre-ordered by Raeanne and delivered from McDonalds’s to end the evening. The joyous couple left later that week for a relaxing honeymoon at the J.W. Mariott The Rosseau Muskoka Resort & Spa in Muskoka. Reflecting on their special day, the duo agreed they couldn’t have asked for a better wedding day. “Everyone told me to relax and enjoy every second because it goes by fast, and I did,” said Raeanne. “I just loved being there with all my friends and family. Everyone was able to come, and the day was fun and light-hearted.”
