Diego with 100 ft. cliffs and a path overlooking the ocean. He proposed along that path. I had no idea it was going to happen.” Many of their 130 guests arrived on Friday at Deerhurst Resort to move into their accommodations and attend a welcome party hosted by the bride and groom on Friday evening. “Everyone hung out on the patio and it was a beautiful night,” said Bryanna. The wedding was scheduled on Saturday at 4 p.m. in order to allow guests to have time to relax, have a dip in the lake and enjoy the resort. Prior to the big event, Bryanna had an emotional first-look with her Dad, now a special memory of the day. For their ceremony in the beautiful Muskoka Room, the couple chose a simple décor to let the room’s exposed wood and stone compliment their wedding’s rustic theme. Lanterns and rose petals lined the aisle, and open windows let in sunshine and a welcome breeze. The ceremony had family ties for the couple with the bride’s uncle as officiant. Family was also represented in the 15 member wedding party with Bryanna’s brother Bronson, Scott’s brother Chris and Bryanna’s cousin’s husband Trey Novotny as groomsmen. On the bride’s side, cousin Heather Novotny and cousin Allyssa Helm were Matron and Maid of Honour, and cousin Jessica Helm and sister-in-law Ashley Doran were also among the seven bridesmaids. Following the ceremony, guests relaxed at a cocktail hour on the back patio while the wedding party had photos taken. “We had an amazing pair of photographers, Lucas and Tay, to capture our memories from start to finish,” said Bryanna. “I also had a local company, Lucy Myers Events, for my wedding day coordination and decor.” The reception in the Grand Ball Room started with a plated dinner of salad, followed by goat cheese-stuffed cranberry chicken with mashed potatoes and vegetables for the main. Dessert was a serve yourself cupcake tower and candy bar. Dancing began after dinner, powered by DJ Jason Stanton from The Muskoka Touring Company. Music ranged from old school rock to top 40 tunes. One thing was for certain - the dance floor was always packed. Guests also visited the photo booth throughout the night and were later treated to late night poutine and pulled pork sliders. “Honestly, our DJ was amazing,” said the bride. “After he got the party going, he started singing. He sang some classics like “Twist and Shout” live in the middle of the dance flooreveryone was amazed!” Looking back on their special day, Bryanna and Scott agree that having all their family and friends together was wonderful. “Everyone grabbed a sparkler on the way out and we partied out of the venue with a hundred sparklers going,” smiles Bryanna.
