RS-SOPHOMORE, CENTER 7-0, 247 HIGH SCHOOL Attended Handsworth Secondary School in North Vancouver, British Columbia, where he played for coach Randy Storey...junior season led Handsworth to the title of the 61st AAA Provincial Championships, scoring 17 points, grabbing 12 rebounds and blocking 4 shots to earn MVP honors on way in 82-65 win over Kitsilano...averaged 25 ppg, 12 rpg and 4 blocks/ finished third in the 2005 Provincial Championships...was member of Canadian Junior National Team at Global Games in Dallas and in the World Championship Qualifiers in San Antonio, Texas, in summer of 2006....also participated in Canada Basketball’s 2005 Nike Centre for performance, competing in USA Basketball’s International Sports Invitational/USA Youth Development Festival in San Diego, Calif., in 2006 as part of Canada’s Cadet National Team...averaged 10.8 ppg to finish fourth and 6.5 rpg to finish second in the festival...also a member of British Colubmia’s U17 team. FRESHMAN (2007-08) After playing 7 minutes in season opener, came off the bench for double-digit minutes in next nine games...scored season-high 12 points in third game of career against UC Riverside, going 5-for-5 from field and 2-for-2 from line...grabbed season-high 6 rebounds at Saint Joseph’s, then surpassed that with 7 against Cal State Northridge...first collegiate start was against No. 11 Tennessee at Battle In Seattle, then started next game at home against five appearances were in reserve role, then was inserted into starting line for next six games prior to giving way to senior Abdullahi Kuso for Senior Night in regular-season finale against Santa Clara...went 3-for-6 from field in those six late season starts...came off the bench against Santa Clara in semifinals of WCC Tournament, playing eight minutes for his longest stint since 11 minutes Feb. 16 at San Francisco...started WCC Tournament semifinal against Santa Clara, missing his only shot attempt while playing two minutes...gave way to Kuso in title game against host San starting lineup in NCAA Tournament First Round against Davidson, making his only shot attempt. SOPHOMORE (2008-09) Missed exhibition game and first two regular-season games while rehabilitating from fall surgery to pin a non-displaced stress fracture in his right foot…made season debut against Oklahoma State in the Old Spice Classic in Orlando, FL, playing 9 minutes, hitting a pair of free throws and grabbing a pair of rebounds…played just 23 minutes over his first three games before coming off the bench for 11 minutes against Indiana, scoring 6 points and grabbing 6 rebounds as he provided critical minutes as Gonzaga broke away in second half for the victory…suffered another break in the same foot the day prior to Dec. 14 game with Arizona in Phoenix…decided to take medical redshirt year rather than return late in the season.
