Executive Summary Purpose The Student Activities Endowment fund or SAEF will be a foundation for Student Activities at the University of Toledo in the long term. the purpose of the SAEF is to generate funds to promote Student Activities at the University of Toledo and to create an environment in which students can have better quality programming and a more enhanced student experience. The SAEF will cement the importance of student life on the University of Toledo’s campus and with a stable environment for Student Activities the University will become a greater destination for current and future students. The SAEF’s overall mission and purpose will be to supplement and to eventually completely fund Student General Fee’s at the University of Toledo.

Objectives These are the goals and objectives of the Student Activities Endowment Fund Long Term: 1.) The SAEF will reduce the cost of General Fee payments from students and the overall goal of the SAEF will be to completely supplement Student General Fees 2.) The SAEF will also provide beyond a reasonable doubt for the community to invest in Students and Student Activities. The Gateway Project is a culminating project of the University and the Community, with the SAEF newer facilities such as these will be able to be used by Students and therefore promote the University and its presence in the Community. Short Term: 1.) To enhance and to strengthen the experience that certain institutional bodies already in place from Student Affairs cannot, such as Student Activities Committee. (SAC) To clarify, the SAEF will not act as a replacement for SAC. 2.) The SAEF will generate revenue through fundraising and solicitation for donations that will go to the SAEF’s account and will directly benefit Student Activities at UT. 3.) To help aid the overall the student body on capital improvements that will benefit the whole, for example a lighting stage or sound equipment.

4.) The University of Toledo is a transformative force for the world and wants to attract students to its campus, the SAEF will enhance the overall experience for Students and will increase and maintain retention through better on-campus programming and events. With the SAEF, Students will have more access to programming as it will be come more feasible and this will in the long run make the University more vibrant.

Structure The SAEF Structure will be governed accordingly to the UT Foundation specified guidelines in regards to endowed accounts. The SAEF will be house under the Office of Student Involvement as this is the most appropriate place. The Board of Governors (Trustees or Advisory Board) will be selected per the established guidelines by the Steward of Accounts of the UT Foundation, however there will be student representation on this Board.

Funding of the Student Activities Endowment Fund The SAEF will generate revenue through fundraising and inquire for donations that will go to the SAEF’s account and will directly benefit Student Activities at UT. Funding for SAEF will not be covered by the Student Activities Committee. This is to be decided upon after the fund has been established by the Steward of Accounts at the Foundation and once we have chosen the Board of Governors (Trustees or Advisory Board) for the SAEF.
