TERRACOTA WARRIORS: AN INMORTAL ARMY

K. 7 Cl. 28 and 29 \ 3348366. info@museonacional.gov.co www.museonacional.gov.co The Ministry of Culture, through the National Museum of Colombia and the Colombian Institute of Anthropology and History -Icanh-, present the temporary exhibition “Terracota Warriors: an Immortal Army”, which will be presented from June 15 to September 10, at the Natural Gas Temporary Exhibition Room of the National Museum of Colombia. This show is comprised by a detailed selection of 73 pieces of art from the Mausoleum of the First Chinese Emperor, Qin Shihuang. This mausoleum is considered one of the most significant archeological findings of the XX century, and the Eighth Wonder of the present world; as it is widely recognized and it is protected by an army of more than 7000 warriors made in terracotta, with an average height of 1.80 m., with unique characteristics, which reproduce the organization of the imperial army that immortalized Qin Shihuang as the unifier of China. The simple is fractioned in 5 modules that highlight the main socio-political divisions of the China of the 2nd Century, Before Christ:

This is an exhibition that the National Museum uses to reiterate its commitments with Bogotá residents, by bringing into the country one of the historical and archeological testimonies, most representative worldwide.
