INTRO TO ACRYLIC PAINTING with Suzanne Fellows
Build confidence in your technical skills and the ability to look at art critically in this five-week class covering the fundamentals of drawing. Using a variety of materials, learn elements of line, value, shape, form, and texture. Experiment with gesture drawing, contour lines, negative space, shading and the intricacies of light, one-point and two-point perspective applied to interior spaces, urban spaces, and still life drawings.
5 Thursdays Sept. 13-Oct. 11 1-4pm Learn basic painting skills through a series of exercises and small paintings in this introductory class. Topics will include handling paints and brushes, preparing a surface, working with acrylic mediums, mixing colors, and various brushwork techniques. $150 / $127.50 (member)

INTERMEDIATE ACRYLIC PAINTING with Suzanne Fellows 8 Thursdays Oct. 25-Dec. 20 (no class Nov. 22) 1-4pm Continue your investigation into composition, color, and brushwork in this intermediate course. Through a series of landscapes, still life, and simple portraits you will learn how to effectively work with reference photos and develop a personal palette. Experiment with the various acrylic mediums and discover how to use layering, texture, light and shadow, highlights, reflections, and transparencies in your paintings.
INTERMEDIATE MANGA with Lily Cernak 5 Saturdays Nov. 17-Dec. 22 (no class Nov. 24) 1-3pm
In this intermediate course, continue building on your drawing and story creation skills as you develop your own graphic novel, comic, or manga. Prerequisite: Intro to Manga $120 / $102 (member)
