pick of the week ••• Carnevale Italiano

The Carnevale Italiano, an annual event sponsored by the North Brunswick Italian American Club, will be in North Brunswick July 14 through July 18. There will be rides, games, food, prizes, and entertainment nightly. Thursday, July 15, will feature the North Brunswick Township High School Singers at 7 p.m. On Friday, July 16, the entertainment includes karate at 7 p.m. and Jerry Spathis at 8 p.m. Saturday’s feature will be fireworks by Grucci at 10 p.m. (weather permitting). The Super 50/50 drawing will be held on Saturday, July 18, at 9 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday are bracelet days: pay one price and ride all night. The Carnevale will be held at Route 130 and Apple Orchard Lane in North Brunswick. A shuttle bus will be available on Saturday from 6 to 11 p.m. at the Community Park on Route 130. Admission to the Carnevale is free.

ATLANTIC CITY Tribeca Film Festival comes to Caesars Atlantic City Caesars Atlantic City and the famed Tribeca Film Festival are bringing cinema to the sand with the debut of the Tribeca Cinema Series at Caesars Atlantic City from July 8 through July 11. Guests at the New Jersey Shore destination will get a sneak peek at some of the “The Infidel” year’s most anticipated films that have been presented at “Trotsky” the Tribeca Film Festival in New York. Each of the screenings is free to the public. The Tribeca Cinema Series will feature an outdoor screen that’s 33 feet long and 20 feet tall. Guests can enjoy indie films from Tribeca as the sun sets on the beaches of Atlantic City. The films slated for the event include “The Infidel” (UK) (July 10), directed by Josh Appignanesi and written by David Baddiel; “The Trotsky” (July 8) (Canada), directed and written by Jacob Tierney and starring Jay Baruchel; “My Last Five Girlfriends” (UK) (July 11), directed and written by Julian Kemp; and “TiMER” (USA) (July 9), directed and written by Jac Schaeffer.
