TIMOTHY J. MULLINS

Board of Directors, Chair, Education Law, Government Law, and Insurance Defense Sections Mr. Mullins has been successfully representing Michigan public school districts for more than 30 years. Mr. Mullin’s representation of public school districts includes: employment discrimination, constitutional litigation, general education, special education, personal injury, serious school bus accidents, workers’ compensation and more. While Mr. Mullins has substantial expertise in school law, he also represents a wide variety cities, counties, universities, hospitals, manufacturers, professional corporations and other entities, in conjunction with both insured and self-insured programs.

ADAM LEVITSKY Workers’ Compensation Mr. Levitsky concentrates his practice in the areas

of workers’ compensation defense, subrogation, municipal law, general civil liability and criminal defense. He has successfully defended employers, their insurance companies, self-insureds and thirdparty administrators at all levels of the workers’ compensation process. He has extensive trial and appellate court experience in Michigan state and federal courts. Mr. Levitsky has also been a frequent lecturer and moderator at workers’ compensation and liability seminars for both clients and other attorneys.

Employment and Labor Law, Education Law Mr. Chapie is a Shareholder in the firm’s Municipal and Education Practice Group. He represents public school districts, municipalities and employers against claims of wrongful discharge, employment discrimination, harassment breach of contract, retaliation, wage and hour laws, and family medical leave laws. Mr. Chapie also assists public school districts and intermediate school districts with student issues involving: special education, civil rights and constitutional claims, Title IX, student discipline and due process, peer-on-peer harassment and personal injury.

JOHN L. MILLER Employment and Labor Law, Education Law Mr. Miller is a shareholder in the Firm’s litigation group. He represents public school districts and municipalities in a wide array of litigation—including: employment, FOIA and Open Meetings Act, general education, special education, civil rights, constitutional law, personal injury claims, and workers’ compensation. Mr. Miller has represented governmental entities and private employers throughout Michigan’s state and federal courts—both at the trial and appellate levels, including the Michigan Supreme Court and United States Supreme Court.

PAUL PALGUT Workers’ Compensation Mr. Palgut has focused his practice on defending Michigan workers’ compensation claims for more than 35 years. He handles all aspects of workers’ compensation cases - from inception through all appeals. Mr. Palgut is used by plaintiff and defense attorneys as a neutral facilitator on difficult workers compensation cases. He has extensive trial and appellate court experience in Michigan state courts.

SALVATORE A. AMODEO Municipal and Education Mr. Amodeo concentrates his practice in the areas of education and municipalities. He represents public school districts, municipalities, and employers in claims of wrongful discharge, employment discrimination, harassment, breach of contract, retaliation, wage and hour laws, and family medical leave laws. Additionally, Mr. Amodeo assists public and intermediate school districts with civil rights suits and constitutional law claims, Title IX claims, peer-on-peer harassment claims, and personal injury claims.

ALBERT TAYLOR NELSON, JR Of Counsel, Litigation, Workers’ Compensation Mr. Nelson is Of Counsel to the firm and specializes in litigation and workers’ compensation. He is a former Board Member of the College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers, a national organization established to honor distinguished workers’ compensation attorneys. Further, he is a former board member of the American Red Cross Southeastern Michigan Blood Services, serving as Secretary and on the Executive Committee. Mr. Nelson also was appointed and reappointed to the State Board of Ethics by Governor Rick Snyder.

ANNABEL SHEA Education and Litigation Ms. Shea is an associate in our Education and Litigation Group. She focuses her practice on complex, evolving legal issues impacting school district such as: Title IX, governmental immunity, FERPA, employment law, Child Protection Law, civil rights and constitutional law.
