01. ARCHITECTURAL RENOVATION Foundries of Arsenale | Relief, analysis and project Venice, Italy

INTRODUCTION Building number 90 is located inside the Arsenale in the north-west, and is part of Darsena Nuovissima. The building was built in 1589, in response to demandsmade by the Military after the Cambrai conflicts against the Lega Santa. Initially, the Darsena was called “Nuovissima, and was the result of works undertaken from 1519 to 1589. The buildings were used as timber and gunpowder deposits until 1798. In the nineteenth century during the foreign domination, they were transformed into workshops for the processing of metals. Currently, the sheds are used as foundries and have, as yet, to be destined to other uses. The project involves the creation of a new window frame and a new portal between two indoor rooms.

02. THEATERS OF WAR Links with the past | Project on Asiago Upland Asiago, Vicenza, Italy

INTRODUCTION This area has a great charm thanks to the historical events it hosted and,in particular, those related to the First World War. Scattered in the territory, there are, in fact, many traces and signs of this conflict that remain tangible testimonies of the Great War. The most obvious signs are given by the trenches, emblematic of this war. The project is the result of three main analyses: -relationship with history -relationship with the place -relatioship with the memory.

03. A NEW AIRPORT Venice airport | enlargement project and new links Venice, Italy

INTRODUCTION 1) URBAN REDEFINITION | Organization of the spaces and traffic across the north of the town of Tessera; adding a green area to change the visual connection between the city and the airport. 2) MOBILITY | extension of the current terminal, services, parking and increasing of the hangars, relating this within the airport via a new “internal tram and to the city tram arriving from Mestre. The traffic will no longer go through the town of Tessera. 3) NEW SERVICES | Casino and services will rise in the same area so as not to waste space and energy in the territory. Connecting the casino and hotel to retail space and related services to the area is crucial.

04. AFTER THE EARTHQUAKE Disvetro Church | Consolidation project Cavezzo, Modena, Italy

INTRODUCTION The village of Disvetro was greatly affected by the earthquake of May 2012. The parish church and school were particularly affected. The damage of the church was huge: the second level and the roof had completely collapsed; the walls were damaged and, the facade was detached from the walls. Two-thirds of the bell tower collapsed and caused a number of problems to the surrounding walls. After an intensive analysis of the collapse mechanisms, the project involves the restoration of the building by reinforcing the damaged parts, thereby make it accessible again. My project also involves the creation of a new roof supported by a new system of steel beams and pillars inserted inside the church and partially resting on the perimeter walls to obtain a closed, air-conditioned environment.

05. A NEW CYCLE TRACK The Vigorelli | Relief, rappresentation and project Milan, Italy

INTRODUCTION The Vigorelli Velodrome is located in the northwest area of Milan, at the time of construction (1935) considered part of the outskirts of the city, unlike today. This same area can be now considered a central and strategic position, because close to site for the “city life project building. The goal is to return a currenty unused building to the city, as part of the contemporary architectural heritage of Milan. The building was particularly appreciated not only for sporting events which took place inside, but also for its architectural charm. It can accommodate a large number of sporting events and functions connected with the territory.

06. MULTIPURPOSE BUILDING New facilities | Project Malamocco isle, Venice, Italy

INTRODUCTION Malamocco is a small village found within the district of Venice, located in the southern part of the Lido Island. It is surrounded by a narrow canal, remnant of the old port that was located here, which separates it from the rest of the Lido. The project area covers 3450 square metres and a green area, bordered almost entirely by the canal. The project involves the construction of a multipurpose center with services such as restaurants, offices and exhibition space. The goal is to offer an area for the inhabitants and to encourage tourism.

07. ANTIQUE AND NEW Villa Badoglio and the new wellness center | Relief, studying and project Flambruzzo, Udine, Italy

INTRODUCTION The castle was built in the 1200s and was part of the defensive line of “water castles in the lower Friuli. It combines the typical features of a fort to an eighteenth-century villa with landscaped gardens, on more than three hectares. It is characterized by spring waters and picturesque islands connected to one another. A number of architectural elements such as the tower and access bridge still remain, which replaced the existing drawbridge, the battlements and moats surrounding the building. These are considered testimonies of the old structure. The project will include the renovation of the existing house, and an external addition that includes a new wellness center.

08. A NEW LOOK ON THE SANDBANKS Thesis | Reclamation landscapes of the Venice Lagoon. Conservation and reuse of the rural settlement Le Trezze (Portegrandi, Venice) Le Trezze, Venice, Italy

INTRODUCTION The settlement includes eleven buildings along the river Sile belonging to the company “Le Tresse” and representing an interesting and unique example of rural settlement dating back to the time of the great land reclamation, still “readable” from the typical mass production plant, suggesting a convincing dialogue between the lagoon facing it and the surrounding fields. These eleven buildings represent the typical farm houses of the area in their structure and use, now obsolete. In fact, the area is a strip of reclaimed land between the northern lagoon of Venice and sandbanks. The current morphology of the area is the result of a series of operations to reclaim the land started in 1678, when the course of the river Sile was modified. The project provides for the recovery of the entire settlement so that this area, the only of its kind, can see new life as a tourist settlement.
