Lawton was chosen to display the quilt, “Go Fish,” along with 401 others in the annual contest, now in its 29th year. Three quilting authorities will be judges and award first-, second- and thirdplace prizes in 15 categories, along with nine overall awards. The American Quilter’s Society hosts four shows annually, each with its own quilt contest. Besides its original Paducah show, the AQS hosts shows in Lancaster, Pa., Des Moines, Iowa, and Grand Rapids, Mich.

The couple’s children and their spouses are: Cindy (Jim) Bradley of Cedar Rapids, Brian (Lisa) Solberg of Cedar Falls, Craig (Michelle) Solberg of Johnston, and Karen (Steve) Krumwiede of Charles City.
