Bring your customers a meaningful,

unique experience of a lifetime. WHAT IS A VOLUNTEER VACATION? This is a unique opportunity for your travelers to see what it’s really like to volunteer and live in a community, and to make a real difference to a genuinely needy community. It’s about sharing experiences with locals in a way traditional tourism generally cannot, laughing with a family while learning to cook new foods, getting a hug from a child in need, distributing wheelchairs to land mine victims in Cambodia, building adobe stoves in Peru, building schools in Ghana. It’s also about

GOALS Every project in which we engage is intended to promote sustainability and cultural awareness. Projects are chosen by the local community, and volunteers work side by side with them as equals.

having fun. It is not about standing in lines at churches and museums with bus loads of other tourists. It’s about giving back, learning about the lives and cultures of others, and learning about yourself and your own culture by comparison. Help your clients discover that one of the most exciting adventures they will ever have is an adventure in service abroad. Globe Aware programs endeavor to promote cultural awareness and sustainability.

WHAT DOES A VOLUNTEER VACATION INVOLVE? The traveler chooses the program (17 around the world such as Cusco, Peru, Brasov, Romania, Beijing China, Ghana, Laos, Thailand, Costa Rican rainforest, etc). •

No special skills or languages required.

No age limit (though a waiver and notarized form is required for teens under 17 traveling without a legal guardian).

Volunteer groups average about 10 per week per program. Special exceptions can be made for larger groups with advance notice.

WHAT ELSE DO VOLUNTEERS DO? The program includes 3 to 5 planned but optional leisure and cultural activities (such as dance lessons, waterfall hikes, excursions to Machu Picchu, language class, horseback riding, cooking class). The program contribution fee includes •
