ALEXANDER OSBORNE | UNITED STATES www.mralexosborne.com

For the past year, Osborne’s practice has centered on challenging spatial dimensions and examining the relationship between organic design inherent to the handmade and the perfect symmetry that can be achieved through digital manipulation. In these works, Osborne realizes a painting on canvas, which he then transfers into Photoshop. Through this digital platform, Osborne alters the visual format to create psychedelic compositions that are at once dizzying and serene.

EWA BORIN | SWEDEN www.ewaborin.com

My oil paintings are large and have lots of colour and emotion. I favours a layer-on- layer technique using palette knives, brushes, fabric, my hands or whatever tool works best for the idea and the emotion I am trying to portray. Experimenting and mixing techniques is an important part of my creative process to achieve a 3D effect and a depth in my paintings. I paint to take a stance!

NEW YORK GALLERY | JAPAN www.n-y-g.jp

NEW YORK GALLERY presents “SHANE BOWDEN” and “Mr.Brainwash”. “SHANE BOWDEN” is a multi-faceted modern artist well-known for his paintings and prints reminiscent of pop icons like Warhol, Koons and Hirst. Born in France and based in Los Angeles, Mr. Brainwash has been pushing pop culture’s envelope for almost a decade, bringing his art to the street, the gallery, and onscreen.

The South African collaborative duo, AD-REFLEX, consists of Johan Conradie and KarlGustav Sevenster. Their opulent Neo-Baroque surfaces are a bizarre celebration of the uncertainties of the future, embracing the unknowable consequence of ‘process’. The original ‘photographic traces’ bubbling underneath the surface of the DIASEC are constantly altered with several photo-manipulation software techniques, the physical freezing of objects in ice (which were then re-photographed in a studio), and oil painting.

ALEXANDRA A. ALBU | ROMANIA http://www.bbuzzart.com/profile/7831/works

What I’ve unlocked from my inner soul is the reason I can spread colours on a canvas. Love. Peace. Shame. Dysphoria. Elation. All in one. My words don’t come out easily, so I express them through colours, which are the extension of my feelings and vibration in this world. Inspired by the vibration that comes from the people around me, especially the EYES, which are the gate of the soul.

BICH (KIM) NGUYEN | UNITED STATES bich.nguyen.artist@gmail.com

Painting “Rest in Peace” helped me grieve through my dad’s death. When I started, I had learned that he became braindead at the hospital, and I couldn’t help but feel suspended in time, realizing he was stuck in an existential limbo. Months later when I made the Sapporo Samurai Bracer, I carried over that suspended feeling I had then through using ukiyo-e (“floating world” prints) influences.

CASEY FREEMAN | AUSTRALIA www.caseyfreeman.com.au

I work to develop paintings that speak about the purity in nature. Part of my process before I begin painting is to study the natural elements. I want to internalise the uniformity found in an alpine forest, and the movement of billowing clouds. I do not want to capture the image with my brushes but rather, I aim to capture the essence, simplicity, and purity of the natural world.

CHLOE PLATT | AUSTRALIA

http://cosmoschloe.deviantart.com/gallery/

My artistic process consists of illustrative works of natural and mythological imagery to portray my exploration and fascination with the notions of perception within nature and fascination with the concept of nature and spirituality. I aim to encourage the audience to reflect on the details, complexity and sense of preciousness natural forms possess on a deeper level and thus, inspire them to think differently about the natural world. I often present multi-faceted appearances of tree stumps and other organic forms. From my perspective, tree stumps are embedded with not only natural beauty, but also possess symbolic and spiritual significance as tree stumps represent regenerators of life, they can harvest other forms of life during its existence and even after death. My art primarily serves as both an individualistic expression and homage to the magnificence of nature. Nightjar in Beginning Flight

LUCIO SANTIAGO | MEXICO nabaanyjb@gmail.com

Lucio Santiago López (Oaxaca, 10 February 1987) His work develops in the dreamlike sphere of surrealism, which is a legacy of Oaxaca’s plastic traditions and of modern psychedelia that has absorbed his gaze through today’s globalized culture. As in the work of Rudyard Kipling, his thoughts are inhabited by nature, the magic of animals. Eagles, bears, serpents and wolves appear in his dreams. His artistic gaze interprets the energy of these beings as they penetrate his visions and journey towards the collective. They are x-rays of each being, a human gesture that escapes them, perhaps a reflexion of what these creatures were—a reflexion of how our gaze coexists with reality.

The forest is a space rich in oppositional categories - light/dark, figure/ ground - which provide the structure to support an exploration of formal, or picture making concerns. My painting process utilises the stencil-like capabilities of masking fluid, providing a physical sense of these dualities in the materiality of the paint. This process explores painting’s ability to express stillness and movement, calmness and agitation, alluding to the solace sought from nature.
