ANDREAS MURAUER | AUSTRIA www.murauer.photography

As an artist I am fascinated by the simplicity of complex things. The biggest challenge is reducing the image content within essential features and distinctive details of the motif. Ilove to break free from the perspective of the human eye and journey back to the most fascinating aspect ratio in photography – the square. A quadrilateral with four right angles and equal sides represents the optimal simplification of surface information.

I have always considered myself an artistic person and I have always been involved in art in one way or another. Photographing is an exciting form of expression for me and I love capturing everyday moment with a moody feeling to it. For me the storytelling of a photo is very important and I try to connect with people’s emotion through my photography.

EDWIN IJPEIJ | NETHERLANDS www.edwinijpeij.nl

I want to create a mysterious atmosphere around the female nude. Therefore, I use a hyper chiaroscuro style in oilpainting. This results in female landscapes that have a chaste and anonymous character. I dress the model in shadows, contrasting to current trends to overdisclose. My chemical background helps me as artist by creating sustainable artworks. For colors that are not available or insufficient quality I produce my own oil paint.

RAJVI DEDHIA UNADKAT | USA www.rajvidu.com

My work explores the interior world, expressing the emotional & feeling nature of it with color, form, line and texture. I am intrigued by the way a work of art conveys that which often cannot be spoken and is perhaps better left unsaid. It is the expression of the vastness of our interior worlds not seen in everyday life but felt as very real.

TATAWA | UNITED KINGDOM tatawaart.com

Tatawa’s art is an urgent, self-gratifying release through spontaneous gesture. Her commitment to authenticity results in an inconsistency in style. Each day a new character emerges and the old one disappears like shredding skin. Like journal entries, daily experiences are purged onto the canvas, with a period of mindless doodling before the painting settles down into a satisfying form. Tatawa celebrates the inherent validity and perfection in our ever-changing states.

In my creative process, I sometimes begin with the implementation of shapes and colors and use them as the starting point from which my works develop. When I start with abstract forms, they transform through the process into more concrete and manifested artworks. This creative process leads to unusual and non-stylized breakthroughs. People enjoy the energy and color of my work, and refer to the happiness it brings them.

Description of the work: Representing nature through the use off different materials to create a harmonious work showing us the varied aspects of our universe. The majority of my paintings are formed by using different kinds of textures. Every material is useful, dust, sand, stone, cloth are used in my work. This emulates distint motifs of nature which highlights its expressiveness.

JODY RICHARDSON | CANADA www.jodyrichardson.com

I am a contemporary expressionist with a loaded brush and a dramatic way with my subject matter. My figure paintings of rock musicians, fanciful animals, and other subjects have the funky energy reminiscent of John Bratby. I have attached a broken guitar on one of my paintings and pieces of metal on other paintings. My slashing strokes and strident colours imbue my figurative subjects with a strongly visceral quality.

This collage work is an irreverent interpretation of feminine objectification in the digital age. The neurosis experienced by masses of women exposing themselves physically and often sexually to public scrutiny online in order to fit in and receive attention is reflected in the cut up scraps of numerous models from magazines collaged into an image deemed “perfection” by today’s media standards.

I’m interested in stereotypes, idols created for an ideology or commercial goal. I use images not connected at first glance. Transforming, mixing, even destroying them, I recreate new memories and tell new stories. I lgive the viewer the opportunity to interpret, in their own way and push them to venture outside their comfort zone, confronting them to a fantasy world that sits between abstract and figurative observations. Melancholic, ludic reflecting our emotions.

The ultimate question I want to answer: Is there an ethically justified place for us – conscious human beings - in the existential climate of our perceptions of life, the very meaning of life? Emotions and experiences linked to reality, in their purest forms, are my subjects of interest, which I try to express in my work.

I want the experience of looking at it to be very much like the experience of walking through a bigger landscape.

Tatawa’s art is an urgent, self-gratifying release through spontaneous gesture. Her commitment to authenticity results in an inconsistency in style. Each day a new character emerges and the old one disappears like shredding skin. Tatawa celebrates the inherent validity and perfection in our ever-changing states.
