CORNELISSEN | THE NETHERLANDS www.cornelissen.online
In my teens I became fascinated by geometric shapes. Then my freelance work as a graphic designer gave me the opportunity to invest in developing my artworks. I have studied for years in mastering a wide range of painting techniques that have been used over the centuries. In recent years this has resulted in work that combines all previous experiences. I have found a connection between art and life through the language of geometric abstraction. By means of self-made oilpaint etc, I create latent recognizable patterns that are influenced by forces around so that variations of interpretation is made possible.

LEBHART | GERMANY lebhart@gmx.net
Inspired by Hyperrealism and pixelated imaging, the portraits are not a reproduction of a photography but an image that adds emotion and soul by giving a charming quality that does not exist in the original. The lack of the artist to see hints of color red and green are diminished by pixelating the portraits in geometric sections. This creates the illusion of a realistic portrait at a distance.

LOES VAN DELFT | THE NETHERLANDS www.loesvandelft.com
Crowned with the Best Global Artist Award at the Amsterdam International Art Fair in 2012, Loes van Delft has since become even more successful and a powerful key player in the art market. Her artworks are booming and becoming a huge investment for contemporary art collectors. The paintings of Loes van Delft combine an innocent quirkiness with a cheeky cartoon feel. Blurring the borders between fine brush strokes and commercialism the characters are endearing, charming and amazingly vivid. Over the years Loes developed her very recognizable character which she calls ‘Pjipje.’

In my latest series “ Even in darkness, there is beauty”, I was inspired by night light in nature, creating beauty against a dark backdrop. In life we can also create beauty when going through difficult times. If we allow ourselves to release our old beliefs and be conscious of how we react, we can grow from the most difficult of situations and shine our true brilliance.

Icons. - The Human Condition. Religion. Hollywood. Light. Dark. Body. Soul. These concepts are a constant ever changing conundrum, in an age of global media, obsessed with celebrity and objects of desire. Is reality as we see it real, or is it us, living through others. The faces that we face are not the other’s, but our own, reflected. Icons are our reflection and we are theirs.

LUCIA GLASS | SOUTH AFRICA artinprayer.com
Lucia Glass’ paintings are silent prayers. They are a diary of her spiritual journey, into the universal dance and the heart of life. She empties herself in her paintings. She captures, in her paintings, Zululand’s dawn, the beauty of the raw elements of earth, air, fire, and water. Lucia does so, with swirling, vibrant colors as she enters a love dance. This portrays the dawn of each individual also emerging into the same love dance of life. This spiritual dawn in her paintings is the discovery of life’s transcendent meaning: a common union with God and all beings.

In these artworks, I inspired by the concepts from Hai Shang Academic art style, which is a kind of Ink wash painting style at the period of Impressionism in China. Combined the use of space from traditional eastern art and the use of textures from western art. All these paintings are started by random strokes, and I finish it until it becomes what I want in my mind, it can be a landscapes, a figure or anything else. I paint the feelings instead of subjects from the real world.

Live material for live sculpture. Wood is the best material for my works. Its warmth, character and pliability open up endless possibilities for fantasy and for the creation of animalistic sculptures. Demanding and fragile, wood disciplines the artist who opted to create with a chisel in hand, inspires a serious and respectful attitude to the creative process, as well as to the object to be depicted. Love and admiration for the model, enjoin the artist to be careful and attentive. Therefore it takes up to 1,5 years to create a sculpture. And that is fair. Art must be honest..

I paint abstract, passionate paintings influenced by the mysticism of my home country Iceland. I am particularly fascinated with texture and the variations in depth and dimension that allow my paintings to come to life: evolving and reacting to changes in light. I layer paint, with Icelandic lava dust to create a hard, rough texture and with salt that flowers into beautiful crystals.

ANNE MARYKEN | THE NETHERLANDS www.AnneMaryken.com
“I don’t search for Art, Art finds me”. Anne Maryken’s work is powerful, yet vulnerable at the same time. She succeeds in catching the essence of human emotion in an intense but subtle way; making the spectator part of an intimate, interpersonal moment. A frozen moment wherein there is an almost sensible tension between that which is static en that which is dynamic. This makes her work authentic and mature despite her autodidactic history and perfectly displays her knowledge and skills in the field of visual language. Besides that she tries to contribute to a world a touch more beautiful.

I’m Eva, in my paintings, I try to capture the human emotion. I compose the images by observing the plethora of human expression. To create my pictures, I’m working with a sponge, to achieve all sorts of textures. To me, emotion is not limited to the eyes or facial expression, it can also be evoked by the skin or even clothes. In recent series I have focussed on faces of refugees. I’m documenting moods like hope and expectation, but also the darker moments. My canvasses are larger than life, because to me, the human emotion can be overwhelming.

I like to tell my stories, but I do not like to tell them literally. I want to evoke curiosities. These stories are reflections on the biggest emotional turning points of my life. First, I use the raw side of the canvas to begin, then layers of medium and paints are applied on top of another to achieve the final outcome. With each painting I sew my name in with a hand-dyed red string, which is to seal and mend this chapter of my life. The act of this art-making process represents the philosophy of my life.

I´m a self-taught painter. As mostly naïve painters, I´m always learning while I go on painting my work. The main reference I had was Pere TornéEsquius (1879–1936), specially his eleven paintings about childhood that had decorated a child’s room. They caught my attention in a special way because of being dedicated to childhood. What I liked the most was that child and adult could gather to observe the paintings enjoyably. I try to get a kind of art that can be equally attractive to both child and adult. I would like to achieve an art for all.

My paintings come together like a wave crashing on paper. The initial marks are a fast, sloppy rumble followed by smaller, more calculated marks. A finished painting is usually made up of many waves. I adhere to three rules that create the natural aesthetic in my work: there are no mistakes; there are no marks too precious to be destroyed; and always react purely to instinct. Creating in this way allows for other forces of chance to involve themselves in my work. The mysteries of the creative process are what I find most fascinating.

SABINE LECLERCQ HAANAES | BELGIUM Stanfcal@yahoo.com
Fascinated by the power of colors, Sabine Haanaes is a Belgian artist who experienced an urge to paint to represent visually what she felt over a decade ago. Freestyle painting is her passion: she refuses to limit her creation to a single type of paint or tool. Constantly inspired by her surroundings, she paints to express and loves to make different materials work together harmoniously. She is driven by the words of a friend: “if someone were to ask me what your painting style is” Her answer would be: “ask my pencil, it is the one that decides ! “

SAI KUMAR | INDIA jasaikumar@gmail.com
After fifteen long years gap I started my passion again. My oil paintings are by means of real intuitive technique methods used, where no usage of previous sketches or ideas sometimes, just skill for reinvention. The creative and prime objective of my work is to “make something beautiful out of pettily alluring.”Finding a way to replicate or to recreate the effects of transparency, especially with oil colour, was victory for me. The labour is shown through my hard work, stroke upon layers can be visualised in the completed art work. My tableau explores, dedication and how hard to work with.

My canvas is intricately woven pieces of metal, intertwined into a beautiful chaos that leaves the mind to see what it wants to see. It is unique in that I bring a feminine touch to a masculine trade by using a welder. I am a self taught action painter and my inspiration comes from the music I listen to as I create my masterpieces.

SLOANE ADAMS | USA www.sloaneadams.com
Sloane Adams is a young, progressive American metalsmith with a uniquely raw style that delivers a sense of energy and narrative passion through award-winning sculpture. Studying at a range of Art Institutes around the world, Sloane began pursuing a career as an artist. She honed her skills in the studio developing a signature style of metalsmithing. That talent and skill, combined with strong and sometimes taboo narratives, seems to not only offer an intimate connection between the viewer and the piece, but it can also bring to light important social issues that now face us in the 21st Century.

‘Every bit of plastic once created, still lives on the earth surface’. This intimidating fact on plastic pollution motivated me to work on re-purposed plastics. Since 3 years I have been working with discarded plastics to make artworks, through which I hope to spread the awareness on plastic pollution. Each textural element on my sculptural artworks are made from re-purposed plastics, which would have otherwise added up our carbon footprint.

TARJA LAINE | THE NETHERLANDS tarjalaine.exto.org
Tarja Laine’s paintings explore the colours, patterns, forms, and rhythms of nature. By means of keen observation, she aims to understand her own perceptual engagement with the organic world. Not only does this demonstrate why nature is always a fascinating subject matter for a painter, but also that paintings are more than just representations insofar as they embody ways of seeing, thinking, and feeling about their topic. As a result of this ‘seeing-feelingly’ Laine’s paintings often emerge between figuration and abstraction, being responses in colour and line to the materiality of organic forms in the visible world.

TIM HUDSON | UK / NETHERLANDS www.thud.nl
Investigations into colour, space and surface. On canvases based on the dimensions of my own body, I create visual journeys through thick layers of colour juxtaposed against translucent panels and wafer thin membranes. Each work is fuelled by my fascination of the virtual spaces of modern technology, from the illusion of the network space, down to the quantum level of quarks and qbits. Some pieces consist only of hanging paint (no canvas) a thin surface reflecting light onto the surface behind, demanding more space than the physicality of the paint itself.

Love and admiration for the model, whether it is an eagle soaring in the sky or a salmon swimming in the river, enjoin the artist to be careful and attentive. That is why it takes one to one and a half years to create a sculpture. And that is fair. Art must be honest. GOLDEN EAGLE HUNTING A VIPER | Wood
