QUEEN ANNE’S SCHOOL IS PROUD TO HOST A SHO The National Schools’ Equestrian Association’s (NSEA) aim is to promote and encourage participation in and recognition of equestrian sport within schools in Great Britain, for team and individual riders from all state and independent schools. The NSEA is the recognised body for equestrianism in schools throughout the UK and has been established for over twenty years providing intra and inter schools equestrian competitions. The Queen Anne’s School event will be held at the prestigious Wellington Riding on 7 July 2013 and will include the Berkshire County Championship and is a qualifier for the Grass Roots Championship. The Grass Roots competition is a new and exciting venture for the NSEA and Queen Anne’s School is pleased to be able to offer this event. Grass Roots classes aim to introduce riders to team and individual competitions. Classes run from 40cm to 70cm and encourage novice riders, ponies or horses to help build confidence. The first four teams and four individuals will qualify for a new regional championship which will be held in the Autumn. Queen Anne’s School helped trial Grass Roots last year and were overwhelmed with entries from riders aged from 5 to 17 years old. Few schools host this competition so Queen Anne’s School expects numbers to be over 200 entries. The Dukes Hall indoor facility will host the Regional Points League classes from 70cm to 1m. Queen Anne’s School is pleased to host the Berkshire County Championship where teams and individual winners from Berkshire will be declared County Winners. Competition is fierce amongst the schools to gain the title.
WHY SPONSOR? Queen Anne’s School are targeting over 350 state and independent schools and expect to attract over 200 riders and their families to the event as we are the only school offering the Berkshire County Championship and the Grass Roots qualifier. In 2012, riders and their families travelled from Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire.
