Come learn and improve your drawing skills using various Pencils, Pastels and Sumi ink. Daily demos on drawing animals, figures and nature, and just drawing from your imagination! We will create paintings using various techniques. We will create masks, mosaics and sculptures using wood, wire and cloth. Explore the many faces of art and Glen Echo Park. Enjoy art in a relaxed creative camp. Drawing media, including graphite, color pencil, charcoal, and marker, will lead us to painting with watercolor and tempera. We will also explore a variety of sculptural media: clay, assemblage with mixed media, plaster strips, wire, relief work, fiber and other crafts. Unleash your inner fashionista and follow seasoned designer processes. Create a unique logo, hone in your style then upcycle. From sketchbook to runway transform existing garments from home and a few supplied by instructor. Old jeans to formal wear, you will learn to transform garments into fashion reflecting your personal style. You will learn step by step illustrated tutorials, tried and true techniques to create fashionable, wearable garments that express your unique style. Students will use paint, dye, bling, cutouts, stencil in individual and group challenges. Bring your own old clothes and sewing kit or use shared supplies. At the Carousel of Animals Camp, your teen will create a life-sized papier maché; carousel animal or a miniature carousel. This camp is a great option for the teen who’s interested in engineering, design, and getting their hands dirty. Get ready campers for four days of movie madness! Design and build your own original character from professional animation clay. Create a background setting with foam board, found objects, and mixed media. Use Sculpey and glow-in-the-dark clay to give your creation unique details. Using Final Cut Pro, students learn basic and advanced stop-motion techniques, animation, and sound design, adding sound effects and dialog to the class production. Come experience the magic of creating your own black and white photographs in a traditional darkroom. This is a fun and impactful experience with hands-on learning! From the camera to the computer, students create stunning digital photography in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. CAMPS Summer Musical Theater Camp

Celebrating over 40 years! Experience musical theater in a fun, full-day camp for rising grades 1-6. Your child will work alongside accomplished D.C. area theater professionals and teaching artists during daily rehearsals in dancing, singing (at a safe social distance), and acting. With props and costumes, music, movement, and scene-work, your child’s experience will culminate in a performance of a full, youthappropriate show for friends and family. Please note that students are grouped with their peers, and casting is at the discretion of the director. Space is limited!
