Come learn and improve your drawing skills using various Pencils, Pastels and Sumi ink. Daily demos on drawing animals, figures and nature, and just drawing from your imagination! We will create paintings using various techniques. We will create masks, mosaics and sculptures using wood, wire and cloth. Explore the many faces of art and Glen Echo Park. Enjoy art in a relaxed creative camp. Drawing media, including graphite, color pencil, charcoal, and marker, will lead us to painting with watercolor and tempera. Unleash your inner fashionista and follow seasoned designer processes. Create a unique logo, hone in your style then upcycle. From sketchbook to runway transform existing garments from home and a few supplied by instructor. Old jeans to formal wear, you will learn to transform garments into fashion reflecting your personal style. You will learn step by step illustrated tutorials, tried and true techniques to create fashionable, wearable garments that express your unique style. Discover the wide variety of critters that inhabit the Chesapeake Bay, from snails to whales to oysters and fishes. This camp will examine habitats, food webs, life cycles and fisheries. Campers will explore the relationships between oyster and bay grasses as well as what happens when the balance is upset. Learn about blue crabs and how their population is tied to the population of jellyfish. The geologic history of our Chesapeake Bay as well as human history will be discussed too. Adventure Theatre MTC (ATMTC) is an award-winning children’s theater and training academy located in Montgomery County. ATMTC serves over 50,000 each year with theatrical productions and the highest quality musical theater training, which help develop the next generation of artists and life-long theatre patrons. At its Glen Echo Park location, ATMTC has its mainstage children’s productions, birthday parties, musical theatre classes for kids aged 5-11, Musical Theater Workshops and Camps, and administrative offices.
Celebrating over 40 years! Experience musical theater in a fun, full-day camp for rising grades 1-6. Your child will work alongside accomplished D.C. area theater professionals and teaching artists during daily rehearsals in dancing, singing (at a safe social distance), and acting. With props and costumes, music, movement, and scene-work, your child’s experience will culminate in a performance of a full, youthappropriate show for friends and family. Please note that students are grouped with their peers, and casting is at the discretion of the director. Space is limited!
