GLENBROOK VALLEY CIVIC CLUB Useful Neighborhood Information Garbage Collection Days: Thursday... We have automated garbage collection which is picked-up every Thursday. Yard wastes (grass clippings and yard cuttings) are also collected on Thursday. Yard wastes must be placed in a plastic bag no heavier than 50 pounds, and placed at the curb 3 feet away from the automated containers for separate collection. If you have yard service be sure to pass this information on to them.
Heavy Trash Pick-up... Second Thursday of every month. One day each month, residents can dispose of large household items such as furniture and appliances through the heavy trash pick-up service. Appliances containing refrigerant must have a tag attached to them certifying that a qualified technician has removed the refrigerant. LIMITATIONS: Building materials (in excess of four cubic yards) such as lumber, shingles, siding, insulation, brick, and plaster, in addition to dirt, sand, gravel, large automobile parts, automobile tires, and hazardous waste or flammable matter will not be collected by Heavy Trash.
