GOOD CAFE

GRAPHIC PROJECTS

This logo was born from the idea of an unusual meeting place, a coffee bar in the morning and a wine bar in the evening, and it’s the exact expression of its strange and dual nature. A romantic tea cup is the base of a wine glass, in order to indicate the transformation during the day, from a quiet morning place where you can sip hot coffee to a vibrating and sophisticated place where you can enjoy the after work tasting good wines. In these pages it’s possible to see different logo variants, including their negative versions, and the mockups in order to see the logo application on letterhead, menu, boxes and website home

WINE WISE

GRAPHIC PROJECTS

This logo was born for the Instagram and Facebook pages of Wine Wise, a personal project to share findings and advices on wine. This activity was born from the passion for the wine world, that links me, my husbund and a friend of us. I am taking care of all design aspects of this project. In these pages it’s possible to see different logo applications.

VINOPOLIS

GRAPHIC PROJECTS

Vinopolis is an imaginary winery, born from my love for the wine world. It is located in Agrigento, Sicily, and for designing this logo, I tried to synthesize an attractive modern visual aspect with classical elements. Wine glasses become temple columns in order to recall the close “Valle dei Templi”. In these pages it’s possible to see different logo versions; the biggest one is the main one, with a light blue brush stroke to recall the Sicilian sea, and dark red and yellow colors to recall the types of the wine The other colored version recalls the sea and the sun of Sicily. In addition, it’s possible to see graphic mockups with the logo on letterhead, business card, wine glass, and wine bottle. I also designed a bottle label, imaging a wine line with Greek Gods names, Atena in this case. Lastly, I designed an exibition stand for wine tasting.

WEDDING DESIGN

GRAPHIC PROJECTS

In these pages it’s possible to see my wedding graphic and event design. I took care of every part of my wedding: graphic, fitting, florist and baker coordination. The wedding had a naturalistic theme and I used natural paper and twine for the invitation, menu, church book, party favour cards. I chose a wood disk to bring the wedding rings, small plants as party favour and a naturalistic naked cake with flowers.

REFURBISHMENT RESIDENTIAL PROJECT

IMPLEMENTED PROJECTS

The project is an attic refurbishment in the historical center of a small village in Sicily, Tortorici (ME). The apartment is constituted by two spaces, the bedroom and the living room with kitchen, in the opposite sides of the house. The light sources are: glazing on the central terrace, two skylights, one in the bedroom and one in the living room and a window in the kitchen. The architectural language is characterized by light colors, with a warm touch obtained thanks to the natural oak parquet.

18

Refurbishment residential project Bathroom Interior Fittings The chosen interior fittings are the following: - Quintessenza Ceramiche, Alchimia series, Elisir, for paving - Quintessenza Ceramiche, Memento series, white, for wall coating - La Torre, Nobel series, for taps - Idealstandard, Esedra for Sanitary equipments - IKEA ,Hemnes series, for bathroom furniture

The bathroom combines a light romantic style with a vintage style, since the project is a refurbishment of an attic in a ’50s house in an historical center. The vintage character strongly comes out thanks to the wall coatings and to the paving, reminding an old style concrete one. The romantic style comes out thanks to the bathroom furniture and decoration details.

POP-UP BAKERY

NEW PROJECTS The project of the external structure consists in a sequence of different kind of wooden boards to recall the cake layers, with the exception of the bathrooms, constituted by natural wooden boards to make them recognisable. In order to encourage customers to go in, I embellished the external walls with writings and created a porthole on the oven for allowing to see the day baked. In front of the entrance there is an area with tables to consume the products.

The project was born for connecting architecture to another passion of mine: bakery. I enjoyed myself putting together the sensations, the colours, the tastes of some famous cakes and the architecture and design. I imagined to realize a wooden temporary structure, using expedients and materials suitable for a sweet environment: wood for instilling sensations of warm and home, glass for brightness and joy, colours for bringing happiness to the customers. The enviroment is a merger between a vintage bakery style and modern and colorful space.

NEW PROJECTS Internal Forniture

As a starting point, I created four colour palettes from four different famous cakes. Then I imagined all tables to be white, attributing the name of one of these cakes to each one, and four chairs for each of them with the colours of the corresponding palette. In this way, I tried to recall the sensations you feel seeing and tasting these sweets. Moreover, I divided the cakes into two different categories, choosing, consequently, two different kinds of chair. The first category consists of Saint Honorè and Sachertorte cakes (1 and 2), instilling sensations of warm and creamy tastes, related to chocolate, cream or caramel. For this reason, I chose an armchair, warm and heavy like the colours of the palette. The model I chose is Marino chair of Ercol.

The second category is constituted by Fruit Pie and Black Forest gateau (3 and 4). In this case, the presence of fruits and bright colours instils sensations of freshness, summer, lightness. All these characteristics are reflected in the colour palettes and in the choice of a light and thin wood chair. The model chosen is All purpose chair of Ercol.

Here it’s possible to see evocative images and the palette colors application to the chairs, in order to explane the bakery style.

RESIDENTIAL PROJECT This project consists in a renovation of an apartment, which includes the addition of a physiotherapy studio. The flat is 60 cm raised, with two entrances: the first one on the south front with a four step stair, the second one on the north front with the possibility to build a ramp. For this reason I chose this second side to position the physiotherapy studio, to allow disabled patients to access easily. The studio is constituted by a waiting room and a medical room with a disabled bathroom, and it is connected to the house. This feature allows to access comfortably to the studio. I renovated the space, keeping some preexisting walls and designing a flat with three bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen. The last two are separated by a sliding door to obtain two different spaces or a big unique one. I added also a little terrace with a small utility room close to the kitchen.

ANCIENT CHURCH RESTORATION

ACADEMIC PROJECTS There are some traces of a wooden roof with ridge beam and sloped joists, totally collapsed; in this project it is planned to be completely renovated. There isn’t any trace of the internal floor, and in its place we can see a dense vegetation layer. This project provides for the removal of this vegetation and the other degradation elements. The restoration project provides also for the creation of a public space to give value to the building and to promote the socialization. Stairs and ramps are designed to connect the near street to the site and car park to facilitate the usability.

The project consists in the restoration of an ancient church in Sicily. This monument is a private chapel annexed to the rural home of a noble local family. The church dates back to XVI century and shows many elements in common with some Sicilian people’s buildings. The architecture has a simple rectangular structure of 7 m x 4 m, with only one entrance and only one window on the main front. The perimetral walls are well preserved, but there are some cracks, treated and resolved in this restoration. The church was built with only one brickwork typology, made by quarry stones of different diameters, brick flakes and disused broken roof tiles. Starting from an analysis of the local environment and the available resources, I chose the new function of this architecture to be a point of sale of typical culinary products.

Wood shelves Stone sales desk LED spotlights for shelves and space illumination Free samples desk Wood support for spotlights

The restoration activity has the aim to apply a new plaster layer on the surface of the walls, with the exception of a single wall, treated only with a protective layer to show the original brickwork.

SENIOR CITY The project concept is based on the meeting between a modern and functional architecture and the mountains surrounding context. For this reason I chose an open courtyard typology for reminding a city form and enclosing the green environment. The project was designed also considering the site slope through the planning of underground spaces. This architecture includes some accommodations for old people, accessible by balconies for allowing a proper distribution and the lodger socialization. I planned only one apartment typology to guarantee equality amongst residents, differentiating the accommodations only in bed typologies, single or double, as needed by users. The inner courtyard consists in a green space adapted to the slope, with walking routes connected to outer streets, to let the old people meet the rest of the city. The covering is designed as a green roof both for achieving energy saving and for a better integration with the landscape. The flat roof is characterized by a minimum slope to guarantee the snow disposal and limiting maintenance costs.
