‘TIS THE SEASON Ladies and gents. The holiday season has swiftly arrived yet again. Are you ready? If you’re anything like me, you have exactly one gift purchased. With each year that passes, I realize the importance of buying gifts with intention. Gifts that truly feel like gifts, ones that transcend material significance. (probably the sensitive Pisces side of me). I hope you find this guide helpful. What I like to do is pick a theme for the person I’m buying for, then put together a collection of things that fit the theme. Pick items with varied price points, and then get creative wrapping them together. Choose with intention and purpose items that make their life easier and enriched. A great majority of the gifts I’ve selected (aside from the ones on my own list!) are things that I use and love... so give with confidence! Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas! I hope you have a beautiful holiday season.

ENHANCE

The quickest way to upgrade a space with maximum impact on a budget: accent pillows and throw blankets. The magic word: TEXTURE. Mix and match patterns and textures to add dimension + make it feel like totally new. *Extra credit: do this swap 4 times a year, once for each season.

INVEST

Go vertical with your investments. On your walls, that is. Pick one: a ladder for blankets, a gallery wall of personalized photos in black+white, or a statement mirror. Focus on one space to start.

STYLE

The details make the difference. -A tray with a candle, pretty matches, and a stack of magazines on the coffee table. -White orchid plant in the bathroom. -Hide all the cords! -Chess set or “found objects to add character.

HOME CHEF

EAT

Buffalo Wing Popcorn Nonstick vegetable oil spray 8 cups popped plain popcorn (from ½ cup kernels) ¾ cup sugar ¼ cup Frank’s Red Hot Original sauce 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into pieces 1 teaspoon kosher salt ½ teaspoon baking soda ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper

*Note: Can be made 4 hours ahead. Store airtight at room temperature to keep out moisture.

Preheat oven to 300°. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Lightly coat parchment and a large bowl with nonstick spray; add popcorn to bowl. Set baking sheet aside. Bring sugar and ¼ cup water to a boil in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, stirring to dissolve sugar. Boil, swirling pan occasionally, until caramel is a deep amber color, 10–12 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in hot sauce and butter (mixture will bubble vigorously). Return to a boil and cook another 3 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in salt, baking soda, and cayenne. Working quickly (and carefully—caramel will be very hot), pour caramel mixture over popcorn and toss to coat. Spread out popcorn on prepared baking sheet and bake, tossing once, until dry, 15–20 minutes. Let cool. recipe courtesy of Bon Appetit

DRINK New York Sour Combine 2 ounces rye or bourbon whiskey, 1 ounce fresh lemon juice, and 1 ounce simple syrup in a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice, cover, and shake until outside of shaker is frosty, about 30 seconds. Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice. Gently pour 1/2 ounce fruity red wine (such as Shiraz or Malbec) over the back of a spoon held just above the drink's surface so wine floats on top.

VACATION IN A BOTTLE

PREP FOR YOUR HOLIDAY BEST

TWO DAYS BEFORE:

PM 1. Shave and exfoliate in the shower. 2. Apply Bondi Sands tanning foam to entire body using a mitt applicator. 3. To a clean face, apply The Face drops. 4. Sleep overnight with tanning products to allow tan to develop.

ONE DAY BEFORE:

AM 1. Shower to rinse off tanning products. Use body wash sparingly. 2. Moisurize with Dove Cream Oil or Clarins Delicious cream (if you need an extra boost of tan). PM 1. After cleansing face, apply St. Tropez bronzing sheet mask. Use a hydrating moisturizer.

DAY-OF:

1. Apply makeup as usual, incorporating Chanel Soleil bronzer and Becca highlighter for the perfect glow. 2. Apply St. Tropez finishing gloss to décolleté. Wash hands well. Allow to dry before getting dressed. 3. If desired, use Vita Liberata Body Blur on legs or other exposed areas. (red-carpet secret for airbrushed perfection!) Note: The Bondi Sands foam doesn’t stain your sheets, but you can lay down a second sheet to sleep on/in if you’re paranoid. I just wash mine when I wake up after the tan.
