Knit2gether. From Friday 24th August until the end of September, Knit2gether will be meeting from 10.00-12.00 in St. Mary’s Church, whilst the restaurant at Greyfriars prepares for new management. New group members are always welcome. Please see Claire for further details.

Plant and Produce Sale. Saturday 25th August. 10am – 5pm. To all the gardeners, can you please pot up any spare plants, donate any spare veg or flowers? To those who make jams jellies or chutneys please donate any spare jars, there will be a tombola and raffle, books, CD’s and DVD’s but not videos! Also there will be Bell Tower tours and the Belles Cafe open throughout the day. Thursday 30th August our church choir will be singing Choral Evensong at Ripon Cathedral. This very beautiful service is at 6pm and will include music by George Dyson and Ralph Vaughan Williams. It will last about 45 minutes. Any support from 'home' would be much valued - it would be great to see you!
Sunday 2nd September at 3pm. All are welcome to a United Benefice Songs of Praise service at Downholme church. This will be followed by a Bring and Share tea in the church grounds. Where the speaker will be The Very Revd. Andrew Tremiett, Dean of Durham on “How the Christian Faith is thriving in out Cathedrals”.
