Surf Bay Holidays was founded in 1905 as Taylor’s Western and has continually expanded and grown under the ownership and personal management of the Taylor family. The Surf Bay Holidays of today is one of the most respected park operators in the country. hilltops, majestic rivers such as the Taw, Torridge and Exe, winding through wooded valleys full of wildlife, leading out to sea.

Whether you are looking for family holidays, somewhere quiet to

relax, or romantic weekends away, North Devon has something for everyone.

North Devon is a popular family holiday location owing largely to its

glorious coastline. A cluster of seaside and beach towns stretching from Clovelly with its picturesque cobbled streets & harbour to Port

towns such as Bideford, with its white houses and tree lined quay to

Westward Ho!, Croyde & Woolacombe and then Lynton where Exmoor meets the sea, provide both great scenery and some of Britain’s best surfing on blue flag beaches.

Then there are the moors –This is the largest open space in southern England with its romantic beauty that is home to the Dartmoor &

Exmoor ponies. Heather strewn moorland and broken, granite tors help to make the moors one of the most undiscovered places in England.

But there is more to Devon than the rural Devonshire of holiday brochures. Explore castles, gardens and Houses and what about the

180 miles of the Tarka Trail where you can walk or cycle till your hearts content.

Let’s also not forget that North Devon has long been seen as the

home of award winning local food and drink and is proud of their rich

dairy produce, fresh seafood, fine meat and cider orchards, making it

All our Holiday Homes are positioned to ensure everyone has the best view possible of the coastline and the Atlantic beyond. Take

advantage of our location – benefit from and enjoy quick and easy access to the sandy beach of Westward Ho!, or simply relax and listen to the sea as it crashes on the rocks after an enjoyable day sight seeing.

All include Colour flat screen TV, fridge, microwave, toaster, free gas & electricity and heated bedrooms and bathrooms for that warm

and comfortable holiday. This year we have added 4 brand new Heron 36 x 12 3 Bed Caravans that come complete with double glazing, central heating & extra insulation.

The beautifully convenient setting, along with excellent accommodation ensures your holiday is perfectly relaxing. Beachside Holiday Park is the ideal location to take in the wonders of the Westcountry. Not only is Beachside close to the family resort of Westward Ho!,

with its excellent facilities and amenities but its also close to outstanding cliff top scenery, coastal paths and countryside. If that’s not enough you’re minutes away from so many family attractions in North Devon.

If you prefer the quiet life, why not visit the sandy ‘Golden Bay’ beach of Westward Ho!? With it’s reputation of being one of the safest

bathing beaches in the country, you are sure to relax plus, there’s also the 600 acres of sand dunes, salt marsh and pasture land on Northam Burrows to see and enjoy.

With its own access to 600 acres of Northam Country Park, which has a large variety of wildlife, and beyond, the safe sandy beach of Westward Ho! with far reaching views across the bay and stunning sunsets.

An award winning family park with high standards and quality customer care, offering a wide choice of holiday accommodation. Each Caravan Holiday Home is fully equipped to sleep from 2-8 people and includes colour flat screen TV with Freeview, fridge, microwave and shower room. Our luxurious Kingfisher Caravans offer flat screen TV with DVD player, double glazing, central heating, extra insulation, dishwasher and en suite shower room (Kingfisher 32 units do not have a dishwasher and have an en suite toilet). Why not indulge yourself? This year we have added another Kingfisher 32 x 12 2 bed with its very own hot tub & decking area, luxury! Also the Osprey Deluxe Extra Warm, a 28 x 12 2 bed unit which has double glazing, central heating and extra insulation, making your stay that little bit more comfortable. Finally, due to popularity, we have also added a further two Oyster Catchers that are 36 x 10 3 bed units with plinth heating

Many of our caravans enjoy views over the Country Park or if you prefer, overlook our spacious open green in the centre of the park which allows children to play safely, whilst making new friends. Launderette facilities are available on site should you require them. Also we now provide free WiFi access, (see website for details). A short walk away is the village of Westward Ho! with shops, cafés, family friendly restaurants and bars. Take a stroll along the promenade or sit on the village green and enjoy a locally made ice cream – delicious!

For those that just can’t keep still, Westward Ho! Beach offers some of the best surfing and kiteing sports along the North Devon coast and body boarding is a must! There is also The Royal North Devon Golf Course which is the oldest in England located less than a minute’s drive away, the ideal place for perfecting your swing. Children will love the many family attractions within a short distance or why not enjoy a daytrip by boat to Lundy Island, see the seals and puffins in a place of outstanding beauty. If you’re not an adventure seeker, simply stretch out with a good book, catch some sun and relax….

and not to mention being one of the sunniest areas in the UK, have long made this one of the most popular UK holiday destinations.

There are lots of things Cornwall is well loved for; the dramatic coastline with its captivating fishing harbours, the spectacular

beaches and the pounding surf that provide a natural playground for

a variety of water sports, and then of course who can forget famous

Cornish pasties and luscious cream teas. Cornwall now has a multitude of award winning local food producers and stellar chefs putting the region well and truly on the gourmet map.

Then there are Cornwall’s beaches that are unrivalled elsewhere in Britain for their beauty and variety and are perhaps best known for

their excellent surfing beaches, offering some of the best surf in the UK.

Also on the coast are some of the Duchy’s most enchanting fishing

villages and harbours, Zennor and Mousehole are but a few. It’s not just the villages that have something to offer those sightseeing, the towns (and city!) of Cornwall are rich in history and attractions of their own

Penzance is one of the largest towns in Cornwall and has plenty to

do and see. From the sub-tropical Morrab Gardens to the bustling

fishing port of Newlyn, you should find something of interest. It is also here that you can take a day trip to the Isles of Scilly by boat, plus it’s within walking distance of Marazion and St Michaels Mount.

River Valley Country Park is tranquillity at its best, with 23 acres of green countryside to forget the hassle of modern living. The partly wooded park near St Michael’s mount, is situated in one of the most picturesque valleys in Cornwall, being just a few miles from both the North & South Coast and their Sandy beaches. The location along the bank of our clear shallow stream invites you to relax whilst you take in the wonderful countryside atmosphere. Nearby there are spectacular cliffs, granite moorland, flower filled lanes, wooded valley’s and incredible wildlife. The park had been awarded a David Bellamy Gold Award, a great reflection on the ethos of the park.

The park offers Timber Lodges and Caravan Holiday Homes,(some with outdoor Hot Tubs) also for the 2014 season we have added new Kestrel Deluxe and Kingfisher Deluxe caravans. The accommodation sleeps from 4-8 with a range of excellent facilities depending on the accommodation type, all include Colour flat screen TV, Microwave ovens, Duvets, Free gas & electric and heated bedrooms & bathrooms, for a warm and comfortable stay. For that extra special stay, why not choose one of our top of the range Caravans or spacious wooden lodges and enjoy Double Glazing, Central Heating and a dishwasher, with a Radio & CD Player in the Caravans (Cormorant) and a CD & DVD Player in the lodges. How to Book

As a first time holiday maker with Surf Bay Holidays, there must be a million and one questions you will have. Please find below a step by step guide to booking your holiday and some useful tips to help you enjoy your time with us, from start to finish. BOOKING

To make a provisional booking, have your credit card details handy and simply call the park direct. Alternatively complete a Booking Form send to the park with your deposit. (You will need to complete a booking form in any event). Please be advised that peak season dates book very quickly, therefore it is advisable to contact the park direct prior to completing your booking form. Our on-line booking system is available at Surf Bay Holiday Park, Beachside Holiday Park and River Valley Country Park.

DEPOSIT

£6.00 per night (£42.00 per week) per Caravan/Lodge at Surf Bay Holiday Park, Beachside Holiday Park or River Valley Country Park. Deposits are non-refundable.

INSURANCE

We strongly recommend you take out Holiday Insurance Cover before the start of your holiday. This must be paid with your deposit. The cost is £3.00 per night per caravan or Lodge. . . please see the summary of cover at the bottom of the Conditions of Booking.

BALANCE

The outstanding balance for your holiday is due 42 days (6 weeks) prior to arrival, this date is also available to view on your deposit receipt.

WHAT YOU'LL GET

A full inventory of each accommodation type is available on request, however please remember to bring towels & tea towels with you as these are not provided as standard.

ARRIVAL TIME

3.00pm. The park managers will do everything they can to have your accommodation ready for you as early as possible. You are more than welcome to contact the park prior to your arrival if earlier than 3pm, to check whether your accommodation is ready. If you anticipate your arrival being after Reception closing time (5pm), arrangements can be made for key collection, should prior notice be given.

WELCOME PACKS

A Welcome Pack has been placed in your accommodation for your arrival. Each pack contains a Tell a Friend offer, Book Next Year offer, Useful Information & Telephone Numbers, plus things to do in the areas. We feel you will benefit from reading the information it contains.

DEPARTURE TIME

10.00am . Unless by prior arrangement with the Park Managers.

ENTERTAINMENT

All three of our parks are family owned parks and we pride ourselves on peaceful, relaxing holidays. Although each park boasts plenty of space for children to play and cycle we do not have any entertainment.

DOGS

Dogs are not allowed in any of the accommodation on Beachside Holiday Park or River Valley Country Park, however, from time to time you may see dogs on leads owned by our private customers at River Valley Country Park. There is limited ‘dog friendly’ accommodation at Surf Bay Holiday Park with a maximum of two dogs per unit. We ask all dog owners at all of our parks to keep their dogs on leads at all times and to exercise them off of the parks.

LINEN

Linen (bottom sheet, duvet covers & pillowcases) is provided as standard in some of our accommodation to accompany the Duvets & Pillows we provide, however in accommodation where it is not provided as standard professionally laundered linen packs can be hired at a cost of £7.00 a week/stay for a single and £9.00 a week/stay for a double bed. For holidays longer than a week, linen changes are offered at the usual weekly charge.

CONDITIONS OF BOOKING

1. ‘CHECK IN’ time for bookings in Lodges & Caravan Holiday Homes is from 3.00pm on the day of arrival (usually Saturdays). For arrivals after 5pm, please make arrangements with the park reception. It is requested that you vacate your accommodation by 10.00am on the day of departure. 2. Time extensions to short breaks or week long holidays may be possible depending on the time of year. Prior arrangement with the park managers is required.

3. Both parties (hirer & park) shall be released from their respective obligations in the event of a National Emergency, War, and Prohibitive Government Regulations or if any other cause beyond the reasonable control of the parties or either of them renders the performance of the Agreement impossible.

4. Please notify the park if your time of arrival is anticipated to be after 5pm, in order that arrangements can be made for key collection. Please be aware that in most cases the park is also the park managers home and your consideration & co-operation is appreciated. All late arrivals should show consideration to others.

5. A £6.00 deposit per night for Lodges & Caravan Holiday Homes must be paid with a written confirmation of booking (Booking Form). The balance of the holiday must be forwarded forty two (42) clear days (6 weeks) before commencement of holiday. Payment should be made by credit card, cheque or postal order. Please do not send cash unless in a registered envelope.

6. Cancellations must be notified to us in writing, by recorded delivery. If the cancellation occurs after the balance of your account has been paid, or is due to be paid (i.e. within 6 weeks of the holiday commencement date), there can be no refund. WE THEREFORE STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you take out our Cancellation Insurance Plan (see below). We reserve the right to re-let your accommodation if the balance is not received in the specified time. Notification of our intention to re-let your accommodation will be sent to the address on the booking form, and your deposit will be forfeited. If we are unable to re-let the accommodation then we reserve the right to receive the balance from you. 7. The management are relieved of all liability should the accommodation not be made available due to circumstances beyond their control. The deposits and all other payments will be refunded in full.

8. Whilst every effort is made to reserve the accommodation requested, we reserve the right to change if necessary. The caravan layouts in the brochure are representative and may vary due to different manufacturers style. If this is important to you please check with the park

10. No group bookings are permitted at Beachside Holiday Park or River Valley Country Park. Whilst we accept group bookings at Surf Bay Holiday Park they will be subject to a security deposit of £50 per accommodation unit payable on arrival. Additionally any substantiated complaint about noise or nuisance against any of the group will result in the management having the right to ask the group to leave the park. The organiser or leader of a group is responsible for providing the parties details. 11. Under 18's will be accepted at the parks discretion

12. No liability will attach to us in respect of any loss or damage to anything brought onto the park at your request or for persons coming onto the park at your request.

13. You will be responsible for all loss of or damage to property at the park or brought onto the park, and for any injury to persons, animals and things caused by or in consequence of any act or omission on your part, your agent or your servants and you shall keep us indemnified in respect of any loss, damage or injury. 14. If you have an accident at the park involving the accommodation, the equipment supplied, or the grounds you MUST inform the park management immediately where practical, but no later than your day of departure. If you do not inform the park before you leave, our ability to investigate could be seriously hampered. Therefore, unless there is a valid reason for the delay in informing the park of the accident, we will not deal with it. 15. Please adhere to the parks speed limit and any ‘one way’ traffic systems in place.

16. The management reserve the right to terminate the hirer without notice if: The Hirer or a member of his/her party causes nuisance or danger to other guests on the park by their actions and does not refrain from doing so when asked. 17. Where linen is supplied, this includes a bottom sheet, duvet cover & pillow cases. Please ensure you hire linen or bring your own. A full linen pack to hire also includes a bottom sheet, duvet cover & pillow cases. We reserve the right to charge laundry costs for any soiled items. 18. For the comfort of all our customers, we would ask that you refrain from smoking in our accommodation.

Cancellation Insurance Plan

1 We cannot emphasise too strongly the wisdom of taking up this insurance. Please note that no refunds of any kind, for whatever reason, can be entertained for those who do not choose to take advantage of these insurance arrangements.

2 This is priced at £3.00 per night for Timber Lodges and Caravan Holiday Homes. You will not be required to pay the balance or, if already paid, will have it refunded, if you are forced to cancel due to circumstances such as; Redundancy • Jury Service • Accident • Injury • Illness • Death 3 Please give as much notice as possible, and provide the appropriate authoritative document to support your reason for cancellation i.e. Doctors note, Death certificate, Redundancy notice under the Employment Protection (Consolidation) Act 1978, or Jurors letter.

You have signed to adhere to the following Conditions of Booking

1. ‘CHECK IN’ time for bookings in Lodges & Caravan Holiday Homes is from 3.00pm on the day of arrival (usually Saturdays). For arrivals after 5pm, please make arrangements with the park reception. It is requested that you vacate your accommodation by 10.00am on the day of departure. 2. Time extensions to short breaks or week long holidays may be possible depending on the time of year. Prior arrangement with the park managers is required.

3. Both parties (hirer & park) shall be released from their respective obligations in the event of a National Emergency, War, and Prohibitive Government Regulations or if any other cause beyond the reasonable control of the parties or either of them renders the performance of the Agreement impossible.

4. Please notify the park if your time of arrival is anticipated to be after 5pm, in order that arrangements can be made for key collection. Please be aware that in most cases the park is also the park managers home and your consideration & co-operation is appreciated. All late arrivals should show consideration to others.

5. A £6.00 deposit per night for Lodges & Caravan Holiday Homes must be paid with a written confirmation of booking (Booking Form). The balance of the holiday must be forwarded forty two (42) clear days (6 weeks) before commencement of holiday. Payment should be made by credit card, cheque or postal order. Please do not send cash unless in a registered envelope.

6. Cancellations must be notified to us in writing, by recorded delivery. If the cancellation occurs after the balance of your account has been paid, or is due to be paid (i.e. within 6 weeks of the holiday commencement date), there can be no refund. WE THEREFORE STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you take out our Cancellation Insurance Plan (see below). We reserve the right to re-let your accommodation if the balance is not received in the specified time. Notification of our intention to re-let your accommodation will be sent to the address on the booking form, and your deposit will be forfeited. If we are unable to re-let the accommodation then we reserve the right to receive the balance from you. 7. The management are relieved of all liability should the accommodation not be made available due to circumstances beyond their control. The deposits and all other payments will be refunded in full.

8. Whilst every effort is made to reserve the accommodation requested, we reserve the right to change if necessary. The caravan layouts in the brochure are representative and may vary due to different manufacturers style. If this is important to you please check with the park

There is limited ‘dog friendly’ accommodation at Surf Bay Holiday Park with a maximum of two dogs per unit. We ask all dog owners at all of our parks to keep their dogs on leads at all times and to exercise them off of the parks.

10. No group bookings are permitted at Beachside Holiday Park or River Valley Country Park. Whilst we accept group bookings at Surf Bay Holiday Park they will be subject to a security deposit of £50 per accommodation unit payable on arrival. Additionally any substantiated complaint about noise or nuisance against any of the group will result in the management having the right to ask the group to leave the park. The organiser or leader of a group is responsible for providing the parties details. 11. Under 18's will be accepted at the parks discretion

12. No liability will attach to us in respect of any loss or damage to anything brought onto the park at your request or for persons coming onto the park at your request. 13. You will be responsible for all loss of or damage to property at the park or brought onto the park, and for any injury to persons, animals and things caused by or in consequence of any act or omission on your part, your agent or your servants and you shall keep us indemnified in respect of any loss, damage or injury.

14. If you have an accident at the park involving the accommodation, the equipment supplied, or the grounds you MUST inform the park management immediately where practical, but no later than your day of departure. If you do not inform the park before you leave, our ability to investigate could be seriously hampered. Therefore, unless there is a valid reason for the delay in informing the park of the accident, we will not deal with it. 15. Please adhere to the parks speed limit and any ‘one way’ traffic systems in place. 16. The management reserve the right to terminate the hirer without notice if: The Hirer or a member of his/her party causes nuisance or danger to other guests on the park by their actions and does not refrain from doing so when asked.

17. Where linen is supplied, this includes a bottom sheet, duvet cover & pillow cases. Please ensure you hire linen or bring your own. A full linen pack to hire also includes a bottom sheet, duvet cover & pillow cases. We reserve the right to charge laundry costs for any soiled items. 18. For the comfort of all our customers, we would ask that you refrain from smoking in our accommodation.

9. Dogs are not allowed in any of the accommodation on Beachside Holiday Park or River Valley Country Park, however, from time to time you may see dogs on leads owned by our private customers at River Valley Country Park.

Cancellation Insurance Plan

1 We cannot emphasise too strongly the wisdom of taking up this insurance. Please note that no refunds of any kind, for whatever reason, can be entertained for those who do not choose to take advantage of these insurance arrangements.

2 This is priced at £3.00 per night for Timber Lodges and Caravan Holiday Homes. You will not be required to pay the balance or, if already paid, will have it refunded, if you are forced to cancel due to circumstances such as; Redundancy • Jury Service • Accident • Injury • Illness • Death 3 Please give as much notice as possible, and provide the appropriate authoritative document to support your reason for cancellation i.e. Doctors note, Death certificate, Redundancy notice under the Employment Protection (Consolidation) Act 1978, or Jurors letter.

4 All other cancellations are subject to section 6 of Conditions of Booking. 5 The decision of Surf Bay Holidays on all claims will be final.
